Man & Van needed to take things to skip
Bellabeck replied to Snowy23's topic in Request a Tradesperson
Hi, I am also looking for a Man with a Van. I need two (dismantled) desks, some old sky boxes/tv monitors plus an electric cast iron fire to be taken to Council waste disposal centre. I also need a large rug to be transported from SE24 to SE21. Any time between now and next Thursday. Thanks -
Hi, I am a volunteer for The Bigger Picture@ EDT, a local film club with all profits donated to local charities. I need help using Mail Chimp especially for designing a monthly email using a template and then adapting template for Mobile viewing. Basic Mail Chimp doesn't provide any support, I could upgrade but would prefer to have help from a human. I am in SE21. Prepared to pay for a couple of hours consultancy.

Please can you recommend a specialist for ear piercing in Dulwich area?

Have a look at this small company http://www.kinodigital.co.uk/kino-concept/ they also have a sister cinema in Maidstone. Bucking the trend on small cinemas. You will be aware of Whirled Art in Loughborough Junction. I am a volunteer for The Bigger Picture@EDT film club and while we have only be going for 9 months there is very strong demand for independent/FL films in our neighbourhood. http://www.thebiggerpic.co.uk/ We raise money for local charities and receive great support from our host/venue, The East Dulwich Tavern. You can also check out South East London Film Club Network http://selondonfilmclubs.wordpress.com/ to get an idea of how much demand there is for films locally. The key to a successful indie cinema is having a venue which makes the visit a totally pleasant and relaxed experience - it needs above all to be 'an event', after all a lot of people can watch films 'on demand' on their flat screen tvs.. Less popcorn and hard sell marketing in the foyer and more a cafe/bar concept plus comfortable seating. I think there is room for an indie cinema in East Dulwich and still for film clubs like ours and many others to thrive. They are not mutually exclusive offerings...

good schools and help for dyslexic 6 year old
Bellabeck replied to wodey's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Bloomfield a good place to start; dont know if they have a list of local freelance dyslexia teachers. We used Chris Barry but I think she has moved on from one to one teaching. Tutoring does help, especially with building a child's slef confidence but beware of how tired they get...Saturday mornings best. Our dyslexic son was at DCPS and then we moved him to Hornsby House School in Balham which had v gd special needs support. Not sure there is such a thing as 'non selective private'? We eventually opted for boarding school at 13 as most London day schools are quite pressured. -
Does anyone have any local knowledge of care homes in this area? So far the ones I have looked at have been really depressing and appear to be for the benefit of the owners rather than the residents...

anyone got any advice on how to find a good care home within 10 miles of dulwich? If you have worked in a care home and want to suggest care home groups to avoid that would be useful to know too...

How to find a care home for frail parents when no experience of doing this... any advice on the quality of ones locally eg up in Sydenham for example?

Peter has just done a great job erecting a new garden shed bought flat packed off the internet. He also did some serious hedge trimming which was a horrible job and nothing was too much trouble.

Hmm. I have never ventured onto forums before and I think the (cynical) responses my initial post has garnered suggests I won't be posting frequently in the future either. I have no party allegiances whatsoever; I am simply a floating voter looking to understand what is happening here in my locality...

I am struggling to find information on any website as to the latest predictions for our constituency - Dulwich & West Norwood. I am keen to see if any tactical voting will be likely to have any effect - or is the seat a safe labour one?
