  1. We are enjoying working with Ayesha from https://www.roads2joya.com/about
  2. Just wanted to add a very hearty and enthusiastic recommendation for Nick. He teaches my kids age 12 and 9. They love their lessons with Nick - he makes it really fun and they are making really good progress. Lessons have worked brilliantly in person and over zoom. He has also been teaching my husband who is a bit rusty after a 30 year break in piano lessons - so can also vouch for Nick's skills with returning adults.
  3. Highly recommend A F E Plumbing - Dan came promptly, fixed my leak and left everything neat and tidy. I plan to use them again to replace bathroom. Reasonable price.
  4. Thank you nunheadmum - agreed but certainty would be lovely!
  5. And did your friend's children with full scholarships get places in the end? We have just been offered a full scholarship (letter lost in post I assume) and am trying to understand if all those with full scholarships get a place. Letter says that those with similar scores all got places in previous years but not guaranteed.....
  6. I can highly recommend S Pearce. 9 generations of chimney sweeps in the area - so local history as well as prompt, efficient and non messy service. They do a lot of the pubs in Peckham as well and have done for years. Highly recommended and lovely guys. 020 8699 3713/8857 6511
  7. I thought some of you might be interested in this. We recently closed our street - Relf Rd in Peckham- so that our kids could play out with their neighbours, safe from cars. It was great - they played football, rode their bikes and older residnets came and leant on their gates and chatted! It was really easy to organise. An email to the council's events locations officer - [email protected] and 020 7525 0741 - filled in some forms, letters to residents then th council delivered the barriers and 'street closed' signs. We were inspired by a Guardian article about a scheme in Bristol. There's loads more info on the playing out website includinng template posters, letters to residents etc http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2012/jun/23/reclaiming-the-streets-for-kids www.playingout.net We are hoping to make it a regular thing ideally monthly
  8. We also have a place at Bellenden. Our child is at the nursery there at the moment and we have been v impressed. I'd love for the kids to meet up before school (but ours is at nursery each morning) and would also be happy to meet for a coffee with parents beforehand if you have questions etc. The school summer fair is on sat 14 july which is a good way for kids to get a feel for school as well as see fire engine, have face painted etc
