Update on 549 lordship lane (Concrete House)
Aaron McCarthy replied to bob's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I was listening to the radio a little while ago, and a guy speaking on there said it is the earliest example of a concrete house; also, isn't the fact that it has been allowed to rot wonderful? I always look at it and think it looks the most Hammer horror haunted house I've ever seen; everyone looks up at its gothic arched windows and ivy clad walls; it should be kept in a perpetual state of elegantly haunted decay. Who wants to look at some shit block of boring, boxy flats with plastic windows anyway? I once saw a line of primary school children out drawing it with their teacher; will that happen with the functional boxy crap they'll replace it with? -
East Dulwich - Featured in 'The Times'!!

It doesn't seem to be a spoof - at least the journalist does write for The Telegraph and Daily Mail; however, it can't be for real, can it? The tone isn't very 'Times', and although its on line, some of the poor grammar, phrases and expression couldn't have passed an editor - could they? I think its a parody of the type of stuck-up persona that looks down their nose at anywhere outside of central London; often where non-whites, or working class people live. The excellent thing is that Susan has, apparently, never been here. God, I hope she ends up writing articles for Dalus Chicken's monthly staff magazine.
