  1. Andrew Lloyd Webber has said that vaccine refusenicks are "selfish" and likened them to drink drivers who put other road users lives at risk. He stopped short of suggesting vaccination should be compulsory however compulsory jabs were introduced in the UK with the Vaccination Act 1853 to combat smallpox. Other countriesfollowed later and smallpox was eventuallyeradicated. The death rate with smallpox was about the same as Covid (but it did cause serious disfigurement) so it begs the question: Why not make vaccination compulsory now? I still have my vaccination booklet from when I traveled extensively and it was essential to have up to date stamps for Yellow Fever a bunch of other diseases. Some countries still insist on proof of such vaccination. Polio has been virtually eradicated (and is only endemic in parts of Pakistan and Afghanistan) as a result of determined vaccination programmes led by the WHO. It begs the question: Do we have an moral obligation to get vaccinated?
  2. The charlatan you mention did not initiate the proposal. The Tories introduced mandatory ID in N.I. in 1985 and afterwards made voter ID cards free of charge. Similarly in the Irish Republic, voter ID must be presented before a ballot form is issued.
  3. Zig-Zag Wrote: > Lucky you. Can I ask what you are feeding them > please? The nuthatches go crazy for mealworms so the RSPB Buggy nibbles is what we use. Other birds love them also. We are now starting grow our own worms . See https://www.rspb.org.uk/birds-and-wildlife/advice/how-you-can-help-birds/feeding-birds/safe-food-for-birds/breed-your-own-mealworms/
  4. @rockets I'm fascinated your heads-up on the tracking stickers. But to work surely they would need to transmit some sort of signal by a device that required a power source and would that not be easily seen. If they work them I want one for my Ribble then if someone takes it, I want to find it.
  5. @Sephiroth, Agree with most of what you say however most governments can turn external factors in their favour eg Covid, wars (Falklands) etc. It's the self-inflicted wounds that bring govts down eg Poll Tax, Tory sleaze and things like the Profumo affair. And even then, it takes an opposition leader with charisma and an aspirational message to complete the task as per a certain Tony Blair.
  6. @Sparrowhawk Whatever their make up, One Dulwich's action plan is totally ineffective. It looks like a wishy washy compromise strategy generated by a committee of intellectuals who are afraid to come to a decision. No plan , no leadership and no hope. They seem to be all jaw-jaw and there is no evidence out on the street of any outcome. Nothing in the media. Nothing on display. Nothing in terms of activism. Compare what they have done with what other Burroughs have done and they are nowhere near. No plan, no leadership and no hope.
