  1. Sainsbury's address is 80 Dog Kennel Hill.
  2. If you think Rowling and Duffield are transphobic then you’ve just jumped on a bandwagon without doing your homework or interrogating the facts Which is the typical response from a transphobe.
  3. Labour removed the whip from Rupa Huq for a racist comment about the Chancellor, yet they continue to have Rosie Duffield who is part of a gender critical clique which also has JK Rowling and Graham Linehan who co-wrote Father Ted who share transphobic views, so I don't think Labour is as pro-Trans as they make out to be.
  4. It's only fair after the closure of Iceland a few years back that there's an affordable store in ED that means the less well off people who live here can get some cheaper products rather than having to go to Peckham or Camberwell. At least it'll get footfall unlike the oversized estate agents which was one big ego fest.
  5. It's a Sainsbury's wide issue. Forest Hill also has similar issues with stock and reducing self-checkouts in operation.
  6. I also had post today, 29th. None yesterday but the postal worker was here. Tomorrow and Saturday are strike days.
  7. The catchment area has been extended back to cover the whole of Upland and Barry Road. The eastern end of their practice area now goes as far as Wood Vale.
  8. It seems to be the luck of the draw if your postal worker is working if you get your post. Two weeks ago Private Eye was 4 days late, but the current edition arrived on Wednesday as usual.
  9. It'll make Peckham Rye station less viable if they cut the bus service in half by going in one direction only. Fine if you're going towards the Old Kent Road or Camberwell, but I can see passengers using Denmark Hill instead if they're heading to Dulwich and I include those who live in Barry Road who find Peckham Rye easier to use currently.
  10. There have been numerous negative Virgin threads on there over the years and yet people still use them here despite their service being oversubscribed. I've never had this issue with TalkTalk and they're more complained about than Virgin overall!
  11. Cineworld has filed for bankruptcy in the US. This doesn't affect the UK Cineworld or Picturehouse businesses yet.
  12. If you think ED is bad for Lime Bikes, there were FOUR dumped outside Sainsbury's outside Forest Hill this afternoon and another couple by Pizza Hut. A couple of weeks ago, another half dozen were left outside the Job Centre on Dartmouth Road.
  13. As well as pavements, they regularly dump bikes on Firemans Alley by the Dulwich Park entrance.
  14. Parkside and Tessa Jowell are both owned by Omnes.
  15. With Brenchley Gardens closing this week, it'll only increase traffic onto Honor Oak Park as the Gardens is a useful short cut to get to Brockley and New Cross by car. I can see Colyton Road and Cheltenham Road being used as an alternative. Colyton especially isn't really suitable for heavy traffic.
  16. It was installed on the Champion Hill Estate - fibre optic straight to the flats. We had Virgin fibre broadband for ages and now we have Community Fibre and Hyperoptic too. Cables running everywhere... but plenty of choice I guess The Lordship Lane Estate also has the choice of both providers as well in addition to Virgin and those who use the Openreach network.
  17. I wanted it, but they charge additionally for a landline where as I get broadband and unlimited UK calls for £25pm on the slower TalkTalk.
  18. The closure announcement is also on their Instagram.
  19. I rented a Lime bike to ride inside the LTN today. Now while I saw bikes riding in and out of Court Lane Gate to go up Eynella Road, I didn't see a single bike bar myself on Court Lane. I'm sure this is also benefitting Lime who are making money from people using bikes for short hop trips as I did today, but still unsure about the major benefits for residents outside the LTN.
  20. All of the ED surgeries are part of Improving Health Limited which is a GP federation of 16 practices in Dulwich, Peckham, Nunhead and Camberwell that supports each other. So for example 306 Medical Centre is independent, but can refer patients to other surgeries such as Tessa Jowell. During the Covid vaccination programme, patients could go to Tessa Jowell or the Lister Health Centre in Peckham for vaccinations.
  21. A long queue for the machines at Barclays at 2pm this afternoon. They had two members of staff in there helping customers one who had to be taken to the then closed counter to cash all her cheques in as she couldn't cope with the machine. An older customer had to be helped as well as he was getting distressed when trying to use the machine, while another asked about withdrawals from the Post Office which are smaller than from a bank. He was told to go to a bank which will be harder when this branch closes in December.
  22. And another burst water main next to the telephone exchange which left residents of the Lordship Lane Estate without water from around 2am until 4pm. Temporary traffic lights are in operation.
  23. I'm sure I must have missed something here, but why is it necessary to have a bus connection between East and North Dulwich stations? They are on the same train line, aren't they? The 42 bus link is more about giving a direct bus connection to Sainsbury's from Red Post Hill and East Dulwich Grove.
  24. I remember going past her place when she resigned as PM and the Common was littered with news crews and trucks.
  25. There has to be a more suitable place for the e-scooters than outside Superdrug? I nearly tripped up over one running for a bus this morning.
