Community Fibre ?? anyone taken it on ??
Bic Basher replied to bigmacca1's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
They've stopped doing the model I use, but this is the up-to-date version of the TP-Link dual band booster. https://www.argos.co.uk/product/8881166 -
London Overground ticket machines will sell Boundary Zone 6 tickets to destinations outside London, but you have to be aware that they do them in the first place which is half the problem if you already struggle with using ticket machines. For it to work properly, there needs to be staff who can help passengers who really do struggle with them as you see at London Underground stations most of the time.

Considering the whole premise of this thread is to bash and troll, it should be lounged.

I've got a TP-Link booster that just goes into a plug scoket which I use to get WiFi in the parts of my flat the router doesn't. Works well. -
306 Medical Centre at 306 Lordship Lane is fine as well.

Boundary Commission constituency boundary reform 2023
Bic Basher replied to Bic Basher's topic in The Lounge
The Commons Library has produced a user friendly interactive map that shows clearly how the new constituencies are mapped. Boundary review 2023: Which seats will change in the UK? (parliament.uk) -
All Southwark managed streets are 20mph except for TfL managed roads in the borough, these include Dulwich Common, Lordship Lane east of Melford Road, Old Kent Road, New Kent Road, Camberwell New Road, Camberwell Church Street, Peckham Road, Peckham High Street and Queen's Road which are 30mph.

I live pretty close to the skate park and have never experienced any issues with the skateboarders.

If TfL could assign the Oyster discount I receive to my contactless card, it'd make life a lot more easier than having to top up every week.

The cuts to public transport as ridership goes back up as more people return to work in-person have been damaging. Bar London Overground, there have been cuts from the train operating companies under the DfT. West Dulwich and Sydenham Hill have seen their services cut to 2 trains per hour for most of the day by Southeastern, while East Dulwich and North Dulwich are back up to four trains per hour. Even Forest Hill and Honor Oak Park which has more trains combined than the Dulwich stations thanks to the Overground has seen their Southern London Bridge services cut from 4 trains per hour to 2. As for buses, the bus lanes need to be proritised again with shared use for bikes. Where there's space then of course have segregated bike lanes, but as seen in Waterloo where bus lanes have been converted into bike lanes or to extend the pavement, it's making bus journeys even longer.

Just to add on the electric buses issue. Lordship Lane will see the 40 and 185 receive fully electric buses, but that still leaves the 176 and 197 using hybrids and the P13 using fully diesel vehicles.

I'm in two minds about this. Most people including the elderly and disabled use some form of Oyster card or debit/credit card (including the Freedom Pass & 60+) for travelling within London, but for those who can't use the internet or need the advice of ticket clerks, it's a negative. However, it's very easy to buy rail tickets online and collect from the ticket machines. I've been collecting rail tickets to travel across the country for years either at Forest Hill or East Dulwich. Forest Hill being a London Overground station can also sell boundary zone tickets from the machines to destinations outside London. This has been years in the making, as soon as National Rail stations were added to Oyster PAYG, they deliberately hiked up paper tickets from our stations to ensure that people use Oyster and with Contactless being used more than Oyster these days, it's really game over inside London at least. The train operating companies outside London have introduced smart cards as an alternative to paper tickets, but they're the same price as the paper one.

3.58 - Stolen Lime bike jumps a red in Rye Lane.

The e-bike/scooter area on the corner of Barry Road and Underhill Road has been tided up leaving a clear path for pedestrians.

I wondered why I got a "Dulwich Hill" Streets for People Newsletter through my door despite not being in Dulwich Hill ward. The map shown above also covers part of Dulwich Wood and Peckham Rye wards.

The Tories could have promised the world and they still wouldn't have won in Village as the local election became an outlet for voters to bash the Government with as a protest vote, even if Southwark Labour have continued to act arrogantly.

You get a lot of assistance with the Lime Bikes. Beauval Road and Dog Kennel Hill are a breeze on them. I haven't dared tried riding a Lime or HumanForest bike up Camberwell Grove yet! Despite being busier roads, I prefer to go up Denmark Hill, Champion Grove and Grove Lane to reach the top of DKH coming from Camberwell. The furthest I've riden on a hire bike so far is Walworth Road which took about 20 mins.

It depends on the bike. Some like to give you a work out while others are more like riding a 750cc moped. The saddle is hard though. Personally I prefer the HumanForest bikes which still give you the feeling of exercise while the e-assist is just enough to climb the hills. Beauval Road is a great test for those e-bikes to see if they can handle steep hills.
