  1. Impartial news report from BBC London.
  2. If it was this morning or around lunchtime, it may have been due to the protest on the corner of Whateley/CP Road.
  3. Labour have reinstated Neil Coyle after he's been suspended for 5 days next week for drunken incidents including racist remarks to a journalist of Chinese descent. What is it with Labour continually supporting bad MPs who happen to support their faction? Corbyn did it with his far-left cranks and now Starmer allows Coyle back in the fold for his appalling behaviour while Rosie Duffield's rather out of touch "sex-first" comments and hanging around with dubious people from the Gender Critical movement has seen her keep the whip because her and Coyle are part of the same faction of Labour.
  4. An impartial report from ITV News about the Honor Oak protest.
  5. There's still two Iceland stores within a couple of minutes drive away, one in Camberwell Road and the other in Walworth Road.
  6. Regarding postal meds, I tried pharmacy4u, but with the erratic post I was more anxious that they wouldn't be delivered in time, so went back to using an actual pharmacy.
  7. There's also a 4 screen cinema opening at the Ladywell Playtower next year.
  8. It's been like that since the pandemic. Constant staff shortages, the reduction in opening hours (sometimes closing at 3pm so the pharmacist can collect their kids from school) and an inability to order drugs in time despite having an electronic prescription sent to them days before. The company itself isn't doing well and is now undergoing a strategic review of the whole business. https://www.lbc.co.uk/news/lloyds-pharmacy-1-300-branches-risk-closure/#:~:text=Lloyds%20Pharmacy%20already%20announced%20the%20closure%20of%20237,following%20a%20review%20which%20blamed%20%E2%80%9Cchanging%20market%20conditions%E2%80%9D.
  9. Was it in a carton or bottle or the liquid you dilute into water?
  10. Lloyds are closing the pharmacies inside Sainsbury's. https://www.theguardian.com/business/2023/jan/19/lloyds-pharmacy-close-sainsburys
  11. Sky is reporting that the founder of Picturehouse has been in talks with the administrators in buying most of the Picturehouse business. https://news.sky.com/story/picturehouse-founder-screens-deal-to-buy-chain-from-ailing-cineworld-12827901
  12. Now officially confirmed that ED Poundland will open on the 18th. https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/whats-on/shopping/poundland-opening-mega-stores-march-26401094?fbclid=IwAR1qHjyHxBlj2Vt1q9AmG6MTWi9foJseXDtmb3PW4_-biCM4TIAv1025sbg
  13. Sadlers opposite Dulwich Library. Never had an issue with collecting meds there.
  14. I've had odd tasting food/drink from Sainsbury's before and had to try other food to double check I didn't have Covid symptoms.
  15. While it's fair to say that there are some of the more unsavory right-wing activists who have tagged on to the anti-LTN campaign, I don't think it's fair to say that everyone against his ULEZ scheme are far-right. Outer Londoners, some of which work in the Home Counties shouldn't have to pay the charge, along with those who live in border areas, some of which are rural. Extending it to places like Croydon or Sutton are fair enough as they're as built up as Inner London, but extending the charge to places like Downe or Chelsfield isn't really worth it. The anti-LTN support has been from a wide range of people with different political beliefs.
  16. It looks like the Lebanese Loop fraudsters have moved on from Barclays to Sainsbury's.
  17. Private Eye arrived today, one day late.
  18. Shocker, today's Private Eye didn't arrive today.
  19. Just across the border in Forest Hill, Thames Water are once again digging the same part of London Road with the temporary traffic lights in operation again for the fourth time in three months.
  20. From the Peckhamplex website at https://www.peckhamplex.london/about-us
  21. Private Eye and the replacement copy turned up at the same time today. The next edition is out tomorrow. It's strange as my other magazine subscription and other deliveries arrived on time over the last fortnight.
  22. I remember pre-Covid that especially on Saturday and Sundays, the Picturehouse was packed with families going to see the latest releases. Not so much since the end of the pandemic.
  23. Can anyone hazard a guess as to why the barriers might have been put there in the first place? It's the wrong type of barrier for them. They want cargo bikes to have full access to Greendale, yet it raises concerns of anti-social behaviour with mopeds being worse as it gives out the wrong message to them. So it's fine for petrol mopeds to speed up and down a path shared by pedestrians and cyclists, but not for emergency services and blue badge holders to use the Calton Avenue/Court Lane junction.
  24. Clean Air Dulwich want the chicane at Greendale removed, which will only increase the amount of mopeds using it as a ratrun. What next? Remove the chicanes at both ends of Fireman's Alley?
  25. When the shelters at the Grove Tavern and Dulwich - The Plough were replaced, they did lose the boards but were reinstalled a couple of months later.
