  14. To quote FIFA: Offside Position It is not an offence in itself to be in an offside position. A player is in an offside position if: ? he is nearer to his opponents? goal line than both the ball and the second-last opponent A player is not in an offside position if: ? he is in his own half of the fi eld of play or ? he is level with the second-last opponent or ? he is level with the last two opponents Offence A player in an offside position is only penalised if, at the moment the ball touches or is played by one of his team, he is, in the opinion of the referee, involved in active play by: ? interfering with play or ? interfering with an opponent or ? gaining an advantage by being in that position No Offence There is no offside offence if a player receives the ball directly from: ? a goal kick ? a throw-in ? a corner kick And they've even set it to music. 16. LB - avoiding a team with too much money is pretty easy nowadays; too much debt is another matter. Also avoid teams where the players are wearing fancy coloured boots. Boots should be black. I'm with PGC on this, go local - Dulwich Hamlet or Millwall.
  17. Keep On Running - Spencer Davis Group (alernatively Keep right on to the end of the road - The Tilton end at St Andrews)
  18. Monmouth in Borough Market - auperb, proper strength lattes. Also buy their beans as one of life's essential luxuries.
  19. Which is more than many a linesman has bothered to do. LB - football is not just about the game itself, but also the camaraderie of supporting a team, the people you go to the games with and the people you meet along the way. And the beer.
  20. Agreed - at half-time felt that we were in control and that there was very little threat - think there were half a dozen times when you passed the ball out of play. Pompey stepped it up after the break and we didn't respond. Too many players had a poor second halfd. The first goal may have been scrappy but the second was well taken and a killer punch. And we really didn't create much in the second half. Talking to Blues fans after, nearly everyone felt let down by the team. Just make sure you do the right and proper thing if you get V***a in the semis.
  21. That sounds like Bendtner and it begs the question as to whether he'll fulfil his potential. Clearly got talent but he's one of those players who needs to apply himself more and develop an edge to his play rather than a slightly lazy arrogance.
  22. Ratty - just back from Fratton. Better team on the day won and the 'not allowed' goal didn't really matter. Congrats. Edited to correct the typos caused by beer. And I'll be back for the PL game on Tuesday for some reason.
  23. Alice - Tom Waits

I'd be gutted if we lose but this game's got banana skin writ large all over it.
