Jeremy
The ski cross was awesome! Actually it's probably less dangerous than the downhill events, as they're not going anywhere near as fast.Oh and jimmy two times... beginners ski-jump ramps are much, much smaller... Brendan
Not seen the ski cross but saw the snowboard cross which was excellent. Far more entertaining than watching people in spandex compete against the clock. Loz
Didn't think the ski cross was quite as good as the boarder cross - less passing and less carnage. Once they'd negotiated the third corner the order was pretty well set. Mind you, I bet that Canadian bloke who lost it in the final is sporting a fairly impressive bruise.Oh, and if you missed the French woman in the downhill, it is here on the BBC site. I laughed a lot at the time. Still do every time I see it. :)) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/10028-loving-the-winter-olympics/page/2/#findComment-299748 Share on other sites
Brendan
Unless we?re talking about some sort of hallucination where Nikki Sixx goes 12 rounds with Cogsworth from Beauty and the Beast. MrBen
Yes it is Brendan. But for something a little more professional in the womens ice hockey.... check this outAfter being dragged out of bed at 4am last night to watch the Canada vs USA game (HUGE match) I'm now duty bound to support the Candadian mens team tonight against Germany (12.30am). If they lose expect national mourning. So yes - I'm loving the winter olymics. MrBen
Its banned in the olympics now apparently - all very sporting now. A great shame as memories of Calgary 88 come to mind. Loz
I think the commentators reckoned she skied over her own ski-pole. Even I can do that.I especially liked the way she went down afterwards and stayed down for so long. Doctors suspected she had a severely bruised ego. MrBen
After losing to the USA in a group game, Canada stuck it to Germany , Russia and Slovakia last night and have made it to the mens ice hockey final vs the USA. Cue much celebration in our house. This is a HUGE match - and live on BBC2 / BBC red button tomorrow night (Sunday). Andystar
I'm all about Curling at the mo.I didn't realise that so much strategy was involved & that bad sportsmanship is frowned upon. It is also traditional for the winning team to buy the losing team a drink after the game - I'd never have to pay for booze again :)-D Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/10028-loving-the-winter-olympics/page/2/#findComment-301796 Share on other sites
