"Hosting a Gold party is profitable in various ways. Apart from selling gold and earn cash the host can get good commission on the revenue generated. The idea here is that while you enjoy the party ambience you can still earn money, which is quite fascinating."

Just don't invite any competition.

"The first step would require you to contact companies that provide specialized services for such events."

Why?

"Some organizations even provide gold buying kits that include scales, devices for determining gold content, gold party tips, gold prices, etc. A gold tester, magnet, and a jewelry scale are the essential equipments of a gold party."

What, no one to bite the coins/goods?

"This concept is extremely popular due to various reasons such as getting instant cash for gold, social gathering with friends and closed ones and turning unused items into spendable cash. Such parties can be organized either at your own home

or at a rented location."

I.e - a lock-up.

"This sounds great and even fantastic but there are certain things which needs to be avoided. The seller must visit jewelery shop before going to a gold party and have your gold weighed. In this way you can avoid loss in gold party. Make sure that a reputable gold company is involved that can be trusted."

You'll get more if you sell at a gold shop or pawnbrokers. Fact.

"Some gold party companies offer help in terms of providing host with wine bottles and other beverages to ensure that the guests are comfortable."

Vulnerable, more like.

"Selling gold at jewelery shops bears the risk of not getting the fair value for gold and thus landing up making a loss."

Wrong. Jewelery shops are regulated by the Office of Fair Trading. Your gatherings aren't.

"However, selling gold in the company of trustworthy friends and closed ones is quite secure. Attend or throw a gold party and I am sure you will enjoy selling gold in the company of your friends and that too with a very good return of your unused items."

Why not break out those loose teeth while you're at it.

hugs???? passive aggressive more like.

Sue just told you that she finds your calling her "love" offensive, and your response is basically "suck it up love" but with the added hypocrisy of a "hugs": basically you're deliberately going to offend you but by saying hugs at the end, you negate the other person's right to be offended. Hence passive aggressive.

How's that then? Sue told iain she's offended, so you repeat the offence. I may be talking twaddle, and you're doing what exactly, deliberately offending people?

And yes I did notice that Iain's original post had been edited by Jimmy Two Tims to call me a bitch, and I find that very offensive as well.

Sorry if you think I've got no sense of humour - too bad.

    • I got this  interesting email today. At least some (albeit apparently very few) shoplifters seem to have been arrested, though I wonder what the criteria were. Obviously that is only the ones arrested as a result of this particular initiative. Met Engage Logo Joint Partnership Success – Operation Roscoea, Southwark We’re pleased to share the success of Operation Roscoea, a joint partnership anti-social behaviour (ASB) initiative carried out in Southwark last week. This multi-agency operation saw eight partner representatives from six support organisations conducting outreach patrols alongside officers from our Trust, Confidence and Engagement Team. These joint efforts led to numerous new referrals into support services, ensuring vulnerable individuals are connected with the help they need. Neighbourhood policing teams also carried out joint patrols with Southwark Council wardens, who now hold newly designated enforcement powers. This enhanced collaboration has strengthened our collective ability to respond to ASB and community concerns. Operational highlights included: Six arrests made by officers from North Southwark Town Centre Team, St George’s, North Walworth, Faraday, Newington Ward, Chaucer, and the Proactive Crime Team: 2 for possession of a Section 5 firearm (CS spray) 1 for possession of Class A and B drugs 1 individual wanted for theft 2 for shoplifting ASB enforcement activity included: 2 Community Protection Notices issued to persistent offenders Numerous intelligence reports submitted to support ongoing investigations This operation is a testament to the dedication and teamwork of our local officers and partner agencies. Thank you to everyone involved for your continued commitment to making Southwark safer and more resilient. We look forward to building on this momentum in future deployments. • I've seen it in the same place the past two Fridays. I'm assuming it's some sand that's left over from when the old sand filters failed. When that happened there was lots of sand on the bottom. I'm guessing it'll only go if they use a pool vacuum to clean the bottom.
    • Maybe because you would have thought such an incident  would have been publicised, or  someone on here would know what it was? On the face of it it seems odd, especially if they were on blues and twos, if there was no serious  reason for it. Unless, as I said, it was some kind of training exercise?
    • If true I was told that the new swimming pool at Canada Water is also closed and will not open until end November/December due to problems.
