Chase Dulwit
Does anyone know why the rather nice post-modern flats finished well over a year ago are still empty?Walked past today and some scrote has grafiti-ed the front. Next the windws will be broken and left un-fixed I'll wager.Although, even when lived in nobody bothers to maintain the pleasing appearance. E.g. The 'Levante' (I think) flats on the end of Melford Rd (opposite Barcelona, where the smart timber cladding is now either bleached by the sun, or has peeling varnish hanging off. SimonM
If you mean the ones at the junction of Underhill & Overhill then they've been empty a *lot* longer than a year and are pretty horrible... Chase Dulwit
Yes they're the ones. I quite like them though. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/10116-new-flats-on-underhill-road/#findComment-299533 Share on other sites
Jeremy
Yes, they've been empty for several years. They lowered the price a few times, but they just wouldn't shift. I don't mind the building too much, but it is an acquired taste. The rooms are strange shapes, and apparently the finish is poor.I don't think they're on the market any more, perhaps the developer has gone into administration? ryedalema
I think I'd be put off by the floor to ceiling windows - either you have to have the curtains closed (or nets - shudder) or never wear skirts or nighties in your own home and stand near the windows!! :-) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/10116-new-flats-on-underhill-road/#findComment-299537 Share on other sites
ontheedge
Wasn't one of these in one of the property pages earlier this year originally sold for ?250k and then at auction for ?100k or something like that bit of a sore blow I would imagine. H
They were advertised the other day on rightmove trying to sell it all in one go rather than individually, although I can no longer see them up on there. TheAllSeeingEye
Ive been an agent in SE22 for several years and I can tell you that these places are the perfect example of developers not having a clue what the local market want. Horrendously overpriced, too far from a station to attract young professionals, poor finish, odd shaped rooms so impossible to use the space on offer (ie, nowhere to put a bed or wardrobe to the wall as curved walls), etc etc etc. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/10116-new-flats-on-underhill-road/#findComment-300585 Share on other sites
