Does anyone know why the rather nice post-modern flats finished well over a year ago are still empty?

Walked past today and some scrote has grafiti-ed the front. Next the windws will be broken and left un-fixed I'll wager.

Although, even when lived in nobody bothers to maintain the pleasing appearance. E.g. The 'Levante' (I think) flats on the end of Melford Rd (opposite Barcelona, where the smart timber cladding is now either bleached by the sun, or has peeling varnish hanging off.

Yes, they've been empty for several years. They lowered the price a few times, but they just wouldn't shift. I don't mind the building too much, but it is an acquired taste. The rooms are strange shapes, and apparently the finish is poor.

I don't think they're on the market any more, perhaps the developer has gone into administration?

Ive been an agent in SE22 for several years and I can tell you that these places are the perfect example of developers not having a clue what the local market want. Horrendously overpriced, too far from a station to attract young professionals, poor finish, odd shaped rooms so impossible to use the space on offer (ie, nowhere to put a bed or wardrobe to the wall as curved walls), etc etc etc.

    • Lots of very good places around Rye Lane. I'd say there are the long-standing great places like Levan, Mr Bao, Oi Spaghetti, Peckham Bazaar and (towards Bellenden Rd) Begging Bowl, Made of Dough, and Artusi.  And then the newer places that we've been enjoying include Janda Diner, Taquiza, Hausu, En Root, Messy Mary (currently at Copeland Social). We are spoilt for choice really! Depends what you're looking for - some of the above are cheap and cheerful, others much more fancy
    • Yep dangerous and worrying and plenty on here seem to either not grasp that or are perfectly ok with it - which is more worrying you think cancerian or any other reform voter will be any happier if reform win? Sure, just like Brexit they will laugh at the lib-tears but as reality hits, nothing but more anger and complaints   And as we see with Brexit and Trump, finding out too late doesn't solve anything
    • Yes, and it's dangerous and worrying.
    • What was he knocking for?  What was actually said?  Why did he become aggressive?  More context is needed 😶
