Nimble Tots storytelling, music and drama classes are back for the summer term this week!

Recommended Posts

Hurrah! We're back for Nimble Tots summer term stories from tomorrow (Monday 10th April!) onwards, with a week jam-packed full of creative classes for 0-5s all featuring stories, music and songs!

This week, Becky and her cello (with a bit of help from Boris the bird) will be telling the tale about how the rabbit got such long ears, as well as thinking about some other instruments in the orchestra, and on Thursday, Holly's Nimble Adventures will be inspired by the book 'Wendy the Wide-Mouthed Frog', with both special pre-schooler drama classes, and gentler baby sessions.

It's ?6 per class if you PAYG, siblings half price (siblings under 1 go free), or a little cheaper if you buy a 6-class flexicard (6 classes for ?33 - no expiry date but you'll still need to book in) or if you book a half term block (?5 per class, ?2.50 siblings over 1). Advanced booking recommended at www.nimbletots.co.uk but if we have space drop ins are welcome (but we do fill up quickly for some classes!)

Nimble Tots this week has a few changes as Holly is off on her holidays! But we've still got creative storytelling and music classes for 0-5s every day this week in all usual venues and times. We're very lucky to have the magical theatre maker Laura and her puppet woodland creatures leading sessions on Wednesday morning at the Ivy House and Becky will be covering Thursday's Nimble Adventures with 'This is not my hat'. At all other Nimble Tales sessions, Becky and her cello will be there as usual, this week with a brand new snake puppet and the story of Anansi the Spider, and how he helped all stories came into the world! Plus of course, shakers, songs, ukulele tunes, scarves and props...

We got pretty busy at some classes last week, so advance booking is recommended at www.nimbletots.co.uk although if there's room we'll do our best to squeeze in drop-ins! It's ?6 PAYG, siblings over 1 half price (siblings under 1 go free), or a little cheaper if you book a 6 class flexicard (?33 for any 6 classes, no expiry date).

This week, after a bank holiday off, we're raring to go from Tuesday onwards with all our normal Nimble Tots classes! Becky's sessions this week will feature all usual cello tunes, puppets and songs, with the story of Lazy Jack (lots of snoring too!). Holly's back from her holidays, and Thursday adventures will be a fun take on 'Hug' by Jez Alborough, with drama activities and games for the 2-5 and mixed age sessions, and gentler sensory storytelling for the under 2 classes.

Advance booking is recommended at www.nimbletots.co.uk as we do sometimes fill up and have to turn people away, but if there's space, drop ins are welcome!

At Nimble Tots this week, our creative musical storytelling sessions for 0-5s and their parents and carers, it's the last before a week off for half term! Becky and her cello are back from holidays with the tale of the enormous turnip... Lots of cello tunes, props, songs and silliness, Becky is leading sessions on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with Holly covering Nimble Tales on Tuesday.

Thursday's Nimble Adventures this week features Owl Babies (and NOT Dinner Time as mentioned in this week's newsletter, sorry!) with Holly leading preschooler drama for older kids, and sensory storytelling for babies.

Advance booking is recommended at www.nimbletots.co.uk as we do sometimes fill up and have to turn people away, but if there's space, drop ins are welcome! • I was at the bus stop again today and as usual this restuarant was deserted. I felt sad to see the nicely laid tables yet nobody in there.. As @the_hermit said I think they need to tidy up the frontage a bit and despite the laid tables with wine glasses on it does'nt read as inviting or home cooked or authentic. If I were the owners I would do a quick fix for instance ditch the white table cloths and put some more rustic looking checked cloths on the tables, or ditch the cloths altogether, just make it look less cold. Ditto I would instead of the awful signage or in addition to it put a handwritten painted menu ON the window stating what they offer "home made pasta" etc... I hope the OP shows this feed to the owners. I wish the owners well as I think its extemely brave of anyone to open a resturant or any kind of buisness in the UK in the current economic climate..and if the food is as good as the OP states a few inexpexive tweaks should make it look more inviting because at present I really would'nt feel tempted to go inside for a sit down meal.
    • You can't refuse. TW allows you up to a 12 months after installation during which time you can continue with the fixed rate system. Then after 12 months you go on the meter rates regardless. The one benefit of this is that the meter send readings on an hourly basis and if you have consumption being registered, when you would not expect it,  (such as between 1am and 6am) , they will advise you that you have a leak somewhere and will give an estimate of how much extra this leakage will cost you after you go on the meter rates.  That way you can fix your lea(s) in advance and save money. If you cannot find the leak  inside the house, it may be outside underground, between your house and the water meter because your old lead pipe may be leaking. That stretch of pipe is your responsibility.  Then you can ask them to help you find it and if you play your cards nicely and catch the TW guy on a good day, then TW will replace your old 1" pipe with a new blue 25mm pipe.
    • Thank you to everyone who do drop off food while they were casting their votes, thanks also to those who enquired about volunteering. It doesn't have to be an election day though to do either though, so we would be grateful to receive donations and additional volunteer help any other day of the year too. We have also just added another string to our bow, and are now re-homing unwanted electricals too, so if you have any unwanted small electricals lurking at home that we can re-home, please drop them off to use to. We only ask that they are clean and working.  we will PAT test them and assuming all good, we will find a new home for them. The Community Fridge website has details, along with a wealth of other information Best wishes Steve Albrighton Community Fridge w: albrightoncommunityfridge.org i: albrighton_community_fridge_
    • Hello, TW installed ours in SE27 in October 2023, unprompted too. We just got a note through the letterbox informing us of the switch to smart meter and its serial number, after it was done.
