Stolen Bike and Bags - Grove Vale

I stopped outside the Grove Vale library this evening (Tuesday around 6:10pm) on my way home from work and left my bike unlocked right outside the door. I would normally lock it and remove the bags but I anticipated being in the library about 15-20 seconds as I just needed to ask the librarian a quick question. In that time my bike was stolen along with my bags that contained wallet, phone, spare glasses, clothes etc etc. A couple of people saw it happen (I think) and they said it was two people that headed off towards Dog Kennel Hill. The Android findmydevice showed it located somewhere around Pytchley Road.

If anyone sees discarded old grey panniers or an old Edinburgh Cycle Coop Courier bike then could you PM me.

Sorry to hear about your bike and the sheer audacity of it being stolen!


My son had his bike cut away from outside ED train station a while ago and there's a lot of it going on in the area of Grove Vale.


Hope you've informed the police so they get to know what's going on.

      Capita (always spelt in Private Eye as Crapita) has a record of failure in its management of public contracts that goes back decades. Yet they continue to get more government business and have our money lavished on them. Private profit trumps public service every time.

      Perhaps the robbers pulled over for a Magnum? A 25-year old Ferrari is probably worth a lot less than many newer cars on the streets locally (£40k-ish, I’m guessing?). I notice the tax is up in a fortnight.
