Cat sitter needed

Recommended Posts

Need a cat sitter to come in once / twice per day (depending on price) to feed and let in / out our cat for 2 weeks at the beginning of August. I've read a few horror stories on here so would really like someone with references.

We are in SE15 but on border of SE22 near Cherry Tree pub.

Thanks

We have used Tina, and I was surprised about one of the posts mentioned here.

However I would add, we never had any issues with her and she was very nice. Just shows you never really can tell.

I would still recommend her though ...I think ;-)

I left my two cats and dog with Jane for 3 weeks in March/April. The dog came back in better health than he went, he has an itch problem at home which was gone when I picked him up. Also, the cats didn't sulk on returning home so I know they weren't put out by the experience.! Highly recommended!

All the best. K.

Yep, Lisa is brilliant. When my old boy was alive, Lisa was amazing when I kept having to go away with work, even popping him down to the vets one time, when she thought it necessary. She's a proper cat lover - exactly what is needed really!

Hi,

I can highly recommend The Pet Manny http://www.thepetmanny.co.uk.

Speak to Ricky 07808167620. He has looked after my cats twice when I've been away on holidays and right from my first meeting with him I knew they'd be in good hands and I felt completely comfortable giving him the keys to my house. He's really personable, very dedicated/responsible and really loves animals. I was recommended him by another friend. He also walks and looks after dogs.

You can find more information an some reviews on his Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/thepetmannyUK/ - all 5-star from what I can see.

Hope that helps

Lucy

    • But all those examples sell a wide variety of things,  and mostly they are well spread out along Lordship Lane. These two shops both sell one very specific thing, albeit in different flavours, and are just across the road from each other. I don't think you can compare the distribution of shops in Roman times to the distribution of shops in Lordship Lane in the twenty first century. Well, you can, but it doesn't feel very appropriate. Haa anybody asked the first shop how they feel? Are they happy about the "healthy competition" ?
    • ED is included in the 17 August closure set (or just possibly 15 August, depending on which part of the page you trust more) listed at https://metro.co.uk/2025/07/25/full-list-25-poundland-stores-confirmed-close-august-23753048/. Here incidentally are some snippets from their annual reports, at https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/02495645/filing-history. 2022: " during the period we opened 41 stores and closed 43 loss-making/under-performing stores.  At the period-end we were trading from 821 stores in the UK, IoM and ROI. ... "We renogotiated 82 leases in the year, saving on average 45% versus the prior lease agreement..." 2023: "We also continued to improve our market footprint through sourcing better store locations, opening 53 and closing 51 stores during the year." 2024:  "The ex-Wilco stores acquired in the prior year have formed a core part of this strategy to expand our store network.  We favour quality over quantity and during the period we opened 84 stores and closed 71 loss-making/under-performing ones."
    • Ha! After I posted this, I thought of lots more examples. Screwfix and the hardware store? Mrs Robinson and Jumping Bean? Chemists, plant shops, hairdressers...  the list goes on... it's good to have healthy competition  Ooooh! Two cheese shops
