Allergic reaction to something in the garden

Hi,

My son likes to play on the grass. He picks the grass, Daisy's and dandelions and throws them in the air. Recently on his throwing hand, he's been getting large red welts. They turn into dry cracked skin. obviousky we have sought medical advice re helping the skin. But we can't find the cause. Does anyone know of any common garden plant that does this? We are in a new house so I'm not exactly familiar with what we have.

Not sure if it helps but I get a red rash when dandelion leaves touch my skin. I haven't looked into it at all, I just stay away from them. Best of luck getting it sorted.

I did suspect dandelions but couldn't find anything online about them being bad. Thanks for letting me know. It could be them.

I get excema from lots of plants - particularly those with white milky sap when the stem is broken, such as you get with dandelions. Bad too if I get scraped by some plants and the skin is broken. You could try treating with a mild antihistamine or hydrocortisone cream. No long term solution I've found other than avoidance - and treating quickly before the reaction gets going and spreads.
