There's a nest in the roof probably. I see them in my place at all times of the year and they are invariably big and sluggish.

They aren't really pests; they don't seem to have the energy to fly or sting. I chuck them out usually.

I was stung quite badly as a kid but that was because I was throwing stones into their nest and deserved it. I've grown to quite like wasps now except when they're after your ice cream. Their paper nests are rather beautiful

I noticed that a wasp seemed to have set up home in the brickwork outside our front door. I presume he/she isn't on their own. As I too considered them to be pests I decided to look up what purpose they serve, if any. This made interesting reading.

Decent read, thanks. Never had a problem with them really, but didn't know the bit about aphids/blackfly. Will look even more fondly on them when my runner beans are infested with blackfly ha.

I have used his services on several occasions now and I am always impressed by 1) the speed of his response,  2) his honest pricing,  3) the quality of his interventions.  I had a washing machine crisis the other day where my old appliance started leaking badly and into the flat below.  Aria can within an hour of my call and sorted the whole thing immediately.  Impressive! Highly recommended!    Posted Thursday at 17:56 a. • Capita (always spelt in Private Eye as Crapita) has a record of failure in its management of public contracts that goes back decades. Yet they continue to get more government business and have our money lavished on them. Private profit trumps public service every time.
    • Perhaps the robbers pulled over for a Magnum? A 25-year old Ferrari is probably worth a lot less than many newer cars on the streets locally (£40k-ish, I’m guessing?). I notice the tax is up in a fortnight.
