??In unusually aggressive terms last night, the prime minister said he was willing to use anti-terrorism legislation to freeze the assets of other Icelandic companies operating in Britain in an effort to recoup the lost money.?

Fuck me! Is all I can rightfully say to that.

Talk about setting a hugely worrying precedent for the abuse of "anti terrorism" legislation.

Edit: To belatedly add sarcastic quotation marks around anti terrorism.

Careful Mockney, sarcasm suggests freedom of thought which can lead to terrorism in which case you have just given the government the excuse they need to steel all your assets and incarcerate you indefinitely without trial.

Edited: For your protection - HM police services.

Calm down and repeat after me:

Those in power know best, that?s why they?re in power

It?s for our protection

Kill the transgressors

Now if only we could all get together, perhaps once a week in a big hall or something and all repeat it together we would all feel so much more reassured.

Whilst I'm in agreement with the pair of you woolly pinkos over the worrying use of antiterror laws to have a pop at Iceland a pop needed to be had.

Those cheeky steam-bathing feckers decided to ignore international treaties and conventions and screw over a lot of public institutions. I think that deserves a response and a tough one to boot.

Now where are those ICBMs?

Ted Max pointed this out on another thread. I feel that as it is about beer it warrants proper exposure and discussion.

Personally I would welcome the chance to be able to buy 2/3s of a pint of lager as lager has to be drunk cold and a pint gets warm at the end, especially as most pubs don?t serve it cold enough in the first place.

I will stick to pints of proper beer though.

    • Your right but also the amount of crime this may cause through robbery of phones and money , people urinating in the street up against people's walls and houses when they leave , the possible vandalism to people's cars the drugs ( users and dealers ) that may show up , the possible violence through fighting or stabbings and god forbid any sort of sexual assaults ... this is another concern for people in the area...
