The Doctor's calling card (from Remembrance of the Daleks)

In the first episode, Barbara addresses the Doctor as "Doctor Foreman", as this is the surname the Doctor's granddaughter Susan goes by, and the junkyard in which they find him bears the sign "I.M. Foreman". When addressed by Ian with this name in the next episode, the Doctor responds, "Eh? Doctor who? What's he talking about?" Later, when he realises that "Foreman" is not the Doctor's name, Ian asks Barbara, "Who is he? Doctor who?" (In an ultimately-unused idea from documents written at the series' inception, Barbara and Ian would have subsequently referred to the Doctor as 'Dr. Who', given their not knowing his real given name.)

etc etc from Wikpedia.

Not sure if we know his real name, but I just enjoyed Tom Baker on the Ark in space on Watch. Top Quality.

It's interesting reference to the fact that you can't always choose your own name.

The Doctor clearly prefers to be call the Doctor.

However, I have a friend called Adam whose name is actually Donut (apologies for spelling). It's necessary in practical encounters that he responds to Donut, because othwerwise his social life would become dysfunctional.

I'm aware that both he, his wife and his parents prefer Adam. I'm aware that there's an argument that says his parents have first dibs on the naming process, and that there is a technical and legal issue with the moniker 'Adam'.

But he isn't Adam, he's Donut. That's his name.

So too is Doctor Who. The Doctor, not Adam.

The guy in the top picture looks, stands, and dresses like a gimp.

D_C stands tall and straight although his hands, possibly, aren't as clean as old gimpy.

In the bedroom picture she looks as though she's more involved with her shopping list,

than the irritatingly hopeful, adolescent lover.

He hasn't realised that a woman with her back to him, means, she has the hots for the director or the producer.

Well now....

I once sat next to young Matt in a Japanese restaurant in mornington crescent about 12 months ago so I don't feel ashamed in claiming credit as the inspiration for his dress sense. The tweed is a good look although some proper fitting moleskins and sturdy brogues will be more useful in fighting Daleks than his current ensemble.

We do have similarly foppish hair and a penchant for red-heads(shhh).

Ahoy-hoy.

    • Hi Busterb, Yesterday I turned up with a scanner & towels, hoping to take a deceased tabby down to TNV. The body was moved moments before arrival & had not been turned in to any vets, rescues or animal hospitals. I am wondering if this could have been the same cat & if someone just tried to move the tabby further away from the road. Please be warned, viewers discretion is advised. but this is what the deceased tabby looked like: https://www.facebook.com/groups/900015513463302/permalink/3729980853800073/  In any case, if you haven't been able to get someone to scan or take down to a vet, I can scan tomorrow morning.
    • Wholeheartedly recommend Aria. He was polite, responsive and sorted our leak, from an old tap on an old plumbing system, with no bother and on same day.
