Oh right - I'm slightly surprised.

I was thinking of the Gilbey family - annoying son who sits in the middle. Quite like the Michael family.

I find Leon annoying and rude, he also refers to sex a lot (what he/wife used to do-yuk) and he told her to shut up recently.

why do children adopt comfort blankets or toys?

but of course in some cases it might be simply a question of modesty :-)

and you have not related this (acute) observation to the multitude of pets on laps - as if a synecdoche for 'I am a caring person' given that I cannot stroke (at least in this private space made public for money or fame) my partner/sibling/parent or whoever.

it cannot be a straightforward thing to have to perform a reaction to TV.

Not just the uk economy! energy prices a result of the Russian invasion, something Johnson said would never happen and as we seek to remove ourselves from non-renewable and Russian controlled natural resources, we have Tories and reform condemning Labour for pursuing renewables.
