woofmarkthedog
Ohhh...What fun...! Yes, Billy Childish was "FUN" in a good old going to a gig at the ICA kind of way. Loud, raw & funny with guitars played straight through the amp, no mixing desk. Just lead, bass & hammering drums, all played with a vim & vigor that brings a big smile to your face.Oh sure it's not going to please everyone, but it is real. It's music played with such passion & joy that I take my hat off to him, long may he carry on.I do also like the venue and the "interesting" ICA crowd. Pretty girls with big noses in Vintage dresses & men not out of place in a Godard film, facial topiary, heavy rimmed specs & asymmetric haircuts, they were all there tonight. It reminds of music before packaging , spin & product got in the way & before downloads made it so impersonal. Well before the X-factor cheesed us off. In all, it was a bloody good British gruntWhich I for one, feel all the better for witnessingIndeedW**FICA/ Billy Childish Show Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/10774-billy-childish-tonight-ica/#findComment-313439 Share on other sites
