Ohhh...

What fun...!

Yes, Billy Childish was "FUN" in a good old going to a gig at the ICA kind of way. Loud, raw & funny with guitars played straight through the amp, no mixing desk. Just lead, bass & hammering drums, all played with a vim & vigor that brings a big smile to your face.

Oh sure it's not going to please everyone, but it is real.

It's music played with such passion & joy that I take my hat off to him, long may he carry on.

I do also like the venue and the "interesting" ICA crowd. Pretty girls with big noses in Vintage dresses & men not out of place in a Godard film, facial topiary, heavy rimmed specs & asymmetric haircuts, they were all there tonight.

It reminds of music before packaging , spin & product got in the way & before downloads made it so impersonal.

Well before the X-factor cheesed us off.

In all, it was a bloody good British grunt

Which I for one, feel all the better for witnessing

Indeed

    • I cannot speak highly enough about my experience with Yousef and his team for my recent house move in East Dulwich. Downsizing and relocating  my stuff from a house to a flat was made a calm and pleasant experience. The move included large and heavy items of furniture, taking items apart and reassembling in the new place, as well as loads of boxes. Nothing was too much trouble. I can thoroughly recommend this service, you will not be disappointed!
