I'm planning to have a water birth at kings, gonna use TENS machine for 1st stages of labour then go for water birth at hospital, that's then plan anyway?

Yeah I've heard 1st borns are normally late, I'm kinda hoping he will be a bit early (38 weeks would be grand!) As they say he'll be just under 9lb if I go all the way to 40 weeks? Which in a way is quite reassuring as I've not put a lot of weight on, it all seems to be boobs and bump! Lol, but at least I know all the goodness has gone to baby!! :-)

I found the Tens machine good for early stages. All I would say is do keep an open mind and don't be too disappointed if it doesn't go how you envisage. I delivered a 9lb baby and lived to tell the tale - I'm sure you'll be fine. Lots of luck to both of you katy and simone. Would love to meet you and your little ones.

Hello all - I'm also expecting my first baby - its a girl and I'm due on 24th May so a little longer to go...I'm off to St Thomas' all being well, to the Home from Home bit of the birth centre. Would be definitely up for a meet up with local new mums once the little ones arrive...

    • I need to go to Asda in the Old Kent Road tomorrow. Theoretically I can get a 78 or 363 bus, but it looks as if the bus stop at East Dulwich Road/Peckham Rye may be closed. I don't know why, but I assume it may be due to gas or water works. Does anybody know if it is just this bus stop, or are other bus stops (or the routes) affected?  I don't want to get a nasty surprise tomorrow, as I have an appointment, so it's time critical.
