Edited to add that I like Antics pubs more than most...and the EDT still managing to mix it's clientele nicely.

The formula for success sounds simple: find a building with character, strip it back to its bones, fill it with chintzy clutter and watch the hipsters roll in.

The kind of exposure that takes the sparkle off the magic for some. It adds to the interest for me.

I've been thinking about this for some time. I like the idea of a pub, what they serve and what they do by way of social function.

But I find myself observing rather than using them

Do I need stripping back to the bare bones, and filling with chintz I wonder?
