I know, I couldn't have managed without it. Mine was almost 10 lbs so close to 20 by six months, and I'm a bit height challenged myself. I would have had to drop him in and hoist him out! Ours had quite an easy mechanism so it wasn't a problem. But apparently the up and down wears the hardware and consequently loosens the rail, which makes the space too large (if I recall the space should be less than two fingers wide?) Honestly his head was so huge I doubt he could have got it stuck in there.

But I was so paranoid in the first year that my goal was to just "keep it alive", so I know I would be a nervous wreck knowing about the safety risk. Bonkers yes.

We made a mistake in buying the Cosatto Close to Me cot. One side slides under the cot so you can pull it right up to your bed. When we moved my daughter into a cot (around 3 months) she was still waking up 3+ times a night and breastfeeding so I thought it would be useful. BUT it doesn't sit right next to the bed, there's a gap that I was worried she'd fall down and you need quite a lot of space to pull the side down and slide it under so tricky to chnage from 3 to 4 sided. We used it with 3 sides for about a week! It does look nice though and my daughter's a little titch so she'll fit into it at 2 I imagine and then she'll move to a single bed (wuth bed guard!).

PS love the look of the bednest! Don't think OH would approve though!

    • On the nostalgia side, I don't think anything can replace the clatter of the metal crates and the whirr of the milk float making its short hops.  Spartacus wrote: >Blimey Sue  >That was a rough neighbourhood if the birds were nicking your bottles. 😅 Which leads precariously to even more nostalgia here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/446783695525873/posts/2409887992548757/
    • I highly recommend anyone wanting to learn manual driving to use Nicholas Driving academy, great instructor who makes things easy to learn while being calm and fun reducing stress. Highly recommend!
    • I view this as a bit of unnecessary political point scoring. I mean, it's not as if she has more important things on her mind. She should get a rap on the knuckles but resignation? I don't think so. Quite how the Tories have the temerity to point fingers after the shambles and outright corruption that took place over Covid, I really don't know.
    • I did check that Tesco were the applicants on at least one of the 7 May forms.  I would be interested to know what Monica has seen.  Possibly some other formal annnouncement somewhere, or the LL traders' grapevine (which I'd guess is generally reliable)?  I wondered if it might have been a licensing matter, but don't see any mention in the licensing sub-committee's 16 October meeting agenda. In the meantime, I'm not even assuming that Tesco are taking the lease.
