nope, just put it in. Hopefully it'll encourage people to perform a search on the site before posting something that may have been discussed/recommended before. We shall see...

it shifts the search box to the left and the "you have new private messages" is aligned to the right of it, in Firefox and Explorer.

now it appears on the left for aesthetic reasons (thanks MP), but I'm not sure why it definitely doesn't work properly, probably because it's special...
