Would anybody in EDF kindly tell me how much are the fees in Gumboots here in East Dulwich. It is not stated in their website and said that if interested call the nursery manager. I called the reception and she won't tell me how much - apparently she works there and she doesn't know. Why is it such a secret? Even Dulwich College that is prestigious is straight forward with the fees. She told me I should come in and discuss it. But why can't I just find out online or by phone? Do I have to be coerced in coming in just to have a chance to compare with other nurseries?

I read it is outstanding and has a year and a half waiting list but this not so straight forward fee information drives to be a turn off !

It depends on age of child and number of days... I can tell you what 3 days for a three year old in the pre-school room costs per month after the 15 free hours are deducted but don't know about other ages/days.

That said, I remember from when I first looked round that overall it is relatively cheap compared to lots of the other nurseries in the area!

I don't think that this link is the current fee list as it's pre the recent merger with LEYF but it will give you a rough idea. http://designedbyellen.co.uk/gumboots/?page_id=60 Fees have not been increased by much over the last few years.

    • Ah sorry, it was comedy.
    • I have never used AI in my life. It's just notes from my forthcoming monograph on light industry in Dulwich and Camberwell 1879-1946 (dates chosen for obvious reasons).
    • Thank you, this really made me chuckle. It's like you met my brother as he would be the one taking more than his share. Plus the 'pikey' chutney is a winner. Unusual as in can't be identified??? Sadly I'm not the host otherwise I would definitely do that I regularly shop in the Cheese Block and am a fan. But as people have pointed out, there is no cheese shop that charges less based on bulk, so Aldi unusual cheeses may be what the familam receive! Yay, so I can get discounted mouse nibbled cheese still! Oooo, now I do love a Stinking Bishop. It actually offends my stepmum by it's stinkiness but luckily she is not one of the attendees at this particular gathering.  This is blooming genius. It's actually my partner who has the biggest issue with buying in plastic so I will have to hide the wrappers from him!
