Thanks for your time, it seems like I won't be joining them then, they already been there for a week and prolly knew about the change months before, if nothing has been done so far it seems like Fusion management just changed name to something else and keeps running the same gym, well done Council.

  • 2 weeks later...

Been to lane-swim twice since the handover.

First time pool was in a bit of a state, rubbish and a household fliptop bin poolside. I was greeted with what felt like a warning that even as a non-member I would not be able to use the facilities in the future without a card (eg: surrender your details).

Second time, what I was told was an 8" wide 'safety zone' ("cos there's only one pool attendant")had been cordoned off on the edge of fast lane, making it significantly smaller than the medium lane, which in turn was probably 50% smaller than the vast ocean of a slow lane. With barely anyone in it. Greeted again with an exhortation to fill out commercial paperwork or risk exclusion from a local authority facility. Nice to see they've taken the time to jazz-up the wall of the pool with an ad for the merchandise in reception/shop, though.

Ha, and indeed, rumph.

My feelings a few weeks in - staff the same (helpful but limited), timetable (little or no difference), reception full of merchandising and unhealthy snacks/food, general upkeep is terrible (non functioning toilets, cold water in showers and/or pool, a/c not working in the class rooms upstairs). When I get some time/energy I'm going to ask for some money back for Jun-Jul!

    • Ohh dear.  Fireworks can be great fun.  Where I used to live the kids would have firework wars/games.  Watching them was more enjoyable than watching  TV. (Which you could hardly hear due to the pops and bangs).  It's not like anyone/anything could stop them. I would still prefer organised public displays that are affordable.   And I agree that fireworks cause problems for wild life, pets and people.   It seems to be one of those things that just happens so we have to put up with it.  But it is still not as problematic here as in other areas in London - that's for sure.
    • I made sure to set off a few today just to rile you guys up 😇😂 Always looking for something to criticise
    • Ugly...maybe..does it bother me..NO! I think its somehow reassuring to see theres still phoneboxes around. East Dulwich may  be getrified but there may well be some elderly people who don't have mobiles and kids who may have lost theirs adults ditto etc etc. I'd rather keep it than lose it...just because i don't use it does'nt mean its not needed.  there are many eyesores in the modern world not all of them as potentially useful.
    • I strongly recommend Balayage salon in Lordship lane as everytime I visit, they make me feel very spicial with thier profisionalism and care.   I have been going there for the last 10 years maybe more, and will never exchange them for any other. They are profisional, welcoming and they also always have an offer. I feel like a new woman every time. X
