Brilliant, thanks both fro such speedy responses - is Sainsbury's open 'normal' Monday hours do you think?

Nothing too awful, just a very heavy cold combined with teething giving little C some big grief - day 3 now and a bit happier as long as I keep her dosed up, but Seldoc very reassuring yesterday when I was getting a bit stressed out and worried by her lethargy.

Can you not buy calpol over the counter in lots of shops, without going to the pharmacy?

Hope she's better soon.

There is a pharmacy by Lewisham Hosp which has very long hours, Westfields Streatham High RD is 24h, and Sainsburys is early to late 7 days p/w as a rule

Brilliant, thank you. Kristal pharmacy is the nearest for me, was going to call and see if they were open, never sure with Bank Holidays.

Fuschia...Calpol alone isn't doing much so Seldoc advised Calpol plus Cuprofen when temperature is going up and she is clearly distressed...didn't know you could give both together, but he said Calpol is actually pretty rubbish for addressing severe teething pain, where as Cuprofen being an anti inflammatory helps a lot. Anyway - one way and another I've gone through what I had left faster than I expected in past couple of days. She really is much better today - actually off me and playing.....have sore nipples from almost constant b'feeding over past 2 days - didn't expect that again in my life! Hoping not to have to dose her so much today but want to make sure I've got supplies in for bedtime!!

Just wanted to add - Westburys on Streatham High Road isn't 24hrs but is open til midnight 365 days a year.

Also don't feel you have to use capol/calprofen - the non-branded paracetamol and ibuprofen syrups are just as affective (and what's used in paeds ED!!).

Hope the little nappies are feeling better soon!! x

But they're not really any cheaper, unless you can get them on a prescription. I was really surprised to find that out!

....but there is always something satisfying about not going with the whole 'brand name' thing, don't you think?

Topped up with meds at Sainsburys today - thanks all, think (whispering here) that we have turned the corner this afternoon as she finally started to actually smile and giggle a bit, please, please let tomorrow be easier, cannot cope with a 4th day of wailing :-(

    • But we’re not in Canada so why celebrate their recent election? Wasn’t their winner our Bank of England director up until his defection to his homeland of Canada? He caused chaos  in this country with his put down of everything British and his many dismal words about the effects of Brexit on this country.
    • I expect that they consider it should be a free choice what to do with your waste, and that segregating it is a waste of money, no doubt it's all a woke conspiracy.  I expect that others are more up to speed with Reform policies. I should have asked Nigel when I was drinking with him.  Well within the vicinity of him in Westminster pubs a couple of times.
    • Let's see how a Leader and party that thrive on division and demonising elements of our society actually do when they have to deliver. Let's hope that the two main parties don't consider that the best way to fight Reform is to become like then. Even less reason to visit the small town where I grew up.  Not a cause for any joy or celebration. Happy to celebrate the Canadian result.
    • The Reform Party has surely taken the Conservatives and Labour by surprise? I’ve been a Conservative voter since the age of 18 and voted for them in the General Election last Summer. Sadly Labour were elected but their policies on so many issues have been their downfall as they did not stick to them.
