Pickle
Sainsbury's is open today, so I would imagine their pharmacy is open too. Hope all's OK!P x Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/11141-does-anyone-know-of-a-chemist-open-today-in-the-area/#findComment-320449 Share on other sites
ryedalema
The one in Streatham seems to always be open if you are desperate and have transport. It's on the main drag just past SDtreatham Hill station. The Nappy Lady
Brilliant, thanks both fro such speedy responses - is Sainsbury's open 'normal' Monday hours do you think? Nothing too awful, just a very heavy cold combined with teething giving little C some big grief - day 3 now and a bit happier as long as I keep her dosed up, but Seldoc very reassuring yesterday when I was getting a bit stressed out and worried by her lethargy.Mollyx Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/11141-does-anyone-know-of-a-chemist-open-today-in-the-area/#findComment-320461 Share on other sites
Pickle
Poor wee thing. I think it's open from 9am today, pretty sure that's what it said on a sign on the door when I was there last week x Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/11141-does-anyone-know-of-a-chemist-open-today-in-the-area/#findComment-320465 Share on other sites
Fuschia
Can you not buy calpol over the counter in lots of shops, without going to the pharmacy?Hope she's better soon. There is a pharmacy by Lewisham Hosp which has very long hours, Westfields Streatham High RD is 24h, and Sainsburys is early to late 7 days p/w as a rule Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/11141-does-anyone-know-of-a-chemist-open-today-in-the-area/#findComment-320467 Share on other sites

mich
Kristals Pharmacy on Nunhead Lane (next to Ayre's the Baker's) is usually open on bank holidays, their number is 020 7639 2614 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/11141-does-anyone-know-of-a-chemist-open-today-in-the-area/#findComment-320475 Share on other sites

The Nappy Lady
Brilliant, thank you. Kristal pharmacy is the nearest for me, was going to call and see if they were open, never sure with Bank Holidays.Fuschia...Calpol alone isn't doing much so Seldoc advised Calpol plus Cuprofen when temperature is going up and she is clearly distressed...didn't know you could give both together, but he said Calpol is actually pretty rubbish for addressing severe teething pain, where as Cuprofen being an anti inflammatory helps a lot. Anyway - one way and another I've gone through what I had left faster than I expected in past couple of days. She really is much better today - actually off me and playing.....have sore nipples from almost constant b'feeding over past 2 days - didn't expect that again in my life! Hoping not to have to dose her so much today but want to make sure I've got supplies in for bedtime!! Fuschia
Yes, can alternate paracetemol and nurofen as long as don't exceed maximum ... effective for fever etc, that's what we do.Good to know that Sains by the library for eg sells both on the shelves, I guess any big supermarket does, then Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/11141-does-anyone-know-of-a-chemist-open-today-in-the-area/#findComment-320501 Share on other sites
buggie
Just wanted to add - Westburys on Streatham High Road isn't 24hrs but is open til midnight 365 days a year. Also don't feel you have to use capol/calprofen - the non-branded paracetamol and ibuprofen syrups are just as affective (and what's used in paeds ED!!).Hope the little nappies are feeling better soon!! x Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/11141-does-anyone-know-of-a-chemist-open-today-in-the-area/#findComment-320515 Share on other sites

I was really surprised to find that out! The Nappy Lady
....but there is always something satisfying about not going with the whole 'brand name' thing, don't you think?Topped up with meds at Sainsburys today - thanks all, think (whispering here) that we have turned the corner this afternoon as she finally started to actually smile and giggle a bit, please, please let tomorrow be easier, cannot cope with a 4th day of wailing :-(Molly Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/11141-does-anyone-know-of-a-chemist-open-today-in-the-area/#findComment-320645 Share on other sites
