I really liked my Cath Kidston changing bag but it was quite bulky and wasn't easy to carry with a sling in the early days when my daughter would scream in the pram! I've got a black Skip Hop bag too which is great to clip onto the buggy handles and has lots of useful pockets but isn't pretty...

Next time I'd like a Storksak or Leo and Lin, not sure how to justify the cost to OH though (like some of the posters here he doesn't see why you need an special bag at all!).

  • 1 month later...

Apologies for resurrecting this thread but I'm just getting around to choosing a changing bag and based on everyone's suggestions above have got myself a bit of a shortlist... The problem is that I haven't been able to look at most of the bags in the flesh (as opposed to online) so it's a bit difficult to decide.

My current shortlist is:

- Lin & Leo: http://www.linandleo.com/babybag.cfm

- Pacapod: http://www.pacapod.com/shop/baby-nappy-bag-large-portland?option=black OR http://www.pacapod.com/shop/messenger-nappy-changing-bag-for-dads-logan?option=black

Skip Hop: http://www.skiphop.com/product/20000.html OR http://www.skiphop.com/product/22000.html OR http://www.skiphop.com/product/21000.html

I looked that the Lin & Leo one in John Lewis and whilst it is rather lovely (my kind colleagues are buying me one so I can be a tad extravagant...!) it doesn't seem to be particularly practical. There wasn't a mini changing mat inside and none of the pockets inside had zips or similar.

I haven't been able to look at the Pacapod or the Skip Hop other than online.... Does anyone know of somewhere that stocks them?

Which would you go for (if money was no object...)?

The Lin and Leo one I have has a changing mat, and the website suggests it should have, so maybe the JL one was just missing. The pockets have velcro fasteners which I have always found adequate, but each to their own. I have used mine for 2 years and it is fantastic and still going strong.
Thanks Vickster - that's really useful to know! I love the look of this bag in that it's more like a handbag so I can keep my bits and pieces in it too...I just can't get my head around something so extravagant that doesn't seem to be the most practical option!!

May I just say, I think so many of those bags are just ugly. At best they are twee and vinyl - OHMYGOD! Really girls, you will be wearing huge knickers next. Where is your self esteem?

Why not buy a nice big roomy dream tote and get yourself a set of buggy clips (they can turn any bag into a changing bag), a fold up changing mat (they did stock some at the Great Little Trading Company online) and a Very Important Pocket by Tentamar. You will still have a fabulous handbag when the baby grows up a little. The Mulberry Roxanne has more pockets than you would need for a set of triplets.

Use your imagination.

Breastfeeding bra's were almost the final degradation for me. Chin up, walk tall, fab bag and shoes. Knock yourselves out.

    • This is a huge part of the problem.   Starmer is only interested in himself, not in what is best for our country.    There's a litany of stuff he's done for spiteful jealous personal reasons which has damaged the nation enormously. Burnham would be a much better leader than of the other dross left behind when Starmer goes. To inflict a worse leader (and PM) upon us for his own selfish reasons would add to the problems and be entirely in keeping with his woeful premiership so far.
    • I heard today there was a burglary in Lacon Road yesterday evening between 20.00 - 22.00,  apparently the owners were home at the time & thieves got away with electrical items along with the owners car!  Wtf!   Anyone heard anything else?
    • What standing on the world stage? Starmer is a wannebe leader, no charisma, no passion, no leadership but tonnes of dithering, wringing his hands and pooing his pants.  I'd love to see Burnham give him a run for his money. Reason he became Mayor of Manchester was due to him no longer wanting to be in front line politics.  This thread has now gone well off topic, perhaps it needs renaming.
