65+ Gardening Club

Hello,

i run a Gardening Club for the over 65+ at the Centre for Wildlife Gardening and I'm trying to attract new members to join us- any idea of how i could go about doing it?

how come only the 65+ group? Most people on here are probably not near that age( no offence meant to anybody)

Have you tried Dulwich Helpline though?

I would have thought the ED General Issues section would have been the best place to inform readers of your club. Could be wrong though.

Sadly that is not always the case as I am only one year away, though still think I'm twenty in my head.

The reason you may not be recruiting as many as you would like maracrippa,

is, if they are anything like me they are already doing it at home in their own garden.

Anyhow, now I know you have a gardening club in embryo,

posting the details of time, day, and address

might be useful to any would be gardening lurkers.

I will attend. I'm 42. Dont even think about preventing me from joining in - there are laws against discriminating against young people like me.

thanks so much for your emails and suggestions - and jokes (-; i know the criteria for the club are a bit strict, but unfortunately somebody else before me developed the project and that's what i'm dealing with. In reality the gardening club is for retired people who either don't have a garden or have mobility problems, but i'm sure some exceptions can be made for younger gardeners in their 60s who feel like coming to share a couple of hours every 2 weeks.Pass the voice on to your older neighbours, friends and acquaintances though - you never know. hello, next tuesday 01 june, although i think the bulk of the group is going to turn up the following tue 08 june. Next week i might have a couple of people coming, and hopefully it'll be a nice day and we'll have plenty to do - the garden has exploded with energy and needs lots of TLC

i've investigated my options and i can actually make it 60+, which should open more doors to more people - come join us!

sorry forgot to reply with details of gardening club! it's at the Centre for Wildlife gardening in 28 marsden road, se15 4ee - 5 mins from the roundabout next to goose green, tue 2-4 - anyone welcome with enthusiasm and a taste for wildlife
