Just get out there Natty. Be creative, talk to people for the sole purpose of having a conversation and clear the desperation.

I personally don't believe in internet dating / hookups, I like meeting people unconventionally or, the old fashioned way.

Meet people, talk to people, if they're not into it, move on with no loss. Approaching people and asking them out is a 50 50 risk of a yes or no answer, nothing more, nothing less.
