Sue, you always do this. Speculating on the mental health of someone you don't know, about an event you didn't witness, where they did something that you don't agree with is not discussing mental health and doing that has the effect of increasing stigma around mental illness. Not everyone who commits a crime is mentally ill - the fact you make a kneejerk reaction linking the two says it all. That's why people teach their children about right and wrong. If you saw a child nick some sweets, would you ask if they were feeling poorly? Do think about the situation and the real lives involved.

Heads up - Interesting threads in the main section

What's happened to georgecanning? Did Admin take pity and decide to limit the damage he was causing to his own business? -
He sounds like a really nice normal guy. It really brings it home, doesn't it? Not gangs, criminals, drugs or kids messing about, just someone like you and me popping into a shop on his way home from a night out. I think what many of us find too hard to think about is that there are people whose lives, for whatever reason, are so damaged, corrupt or brutalised that a cigarette is the price of a life.

Police in riot gear?
Robert Poste's Child replied to Alan Medic's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
D'you think they had to jog in formation all the way to Walworth? -
They were responding initially to a silly claim by a GLR presenter after this horrible incident, so a slightly different thing. I'd add that it's not the right place to speculate about the person's mental health - I'd say that anyway, but see earlier comments about any future legal case. I'm sure we wouldn't want to make this any harder for the family and friends of the man who lost his life.

Or got an old satnav that doesn't know the police station's gone. -

Radio 4's More or Less tonight is looking at the stats on this. -
That's hilarious. How many rules is that - three, four? So soon after Tropicgate.

What was it about? No riots reported. -

Me too, have to say, considering she'd clearly had it explained to her before so it's not like she didn't know. -
The big problem with the CPZ issue is that people keep starting new threads rather than adding to the existing one. So tiresome.

Philip Kingsley products locally
Robert Poste's Child replied to Robert Poste's Child's topic in The Lounge
Thanks. Didn't know they stocked it. -
Has anyone spotted a hairdresser selling these locally? I'm after the itchy scalp one. I know where their shop is and that you can buy them online so just looking for a local seller. Thanks.

I don't know about tourist offices but if you can't find one Stanfords in Covent Garden would have street maps (not free though).

If you get a proactive apology letter from RM you really know they've stuffed up. Normally it's about as customer-centric as British Gas in the 1970s.

Ooh, that really would be quite annoying as returning it won't be cheap either.

Lollipop man on Crystal Palace Road
Robert Poste's Child replied to Mrs D's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I'd never thought about it but given the slight curve on the road he's got a point. Opportunity to explain visibility to the kids perhaps? -
How do you manage to turn every topic into a soapbox for your right-wing fears?
