Brendan
I don?t suppose if anyone knows if I can put Guinness cans in the recycling? They have a little plastic widget inside so they are a mixture of metal and plastic. capt_birdseye
They need to be expertly disposed of. Just send me your un-opened cans and I'll make sure they are taken care of. wee quinnie
If you have a large pair of scissors you can cut the can open and take out the wee bobbly thing. Michael Palaeologus
You can recycle. They remove the widgets painlessly and send them to a widget haven for their retirement. Same as they do with the Youngs brewery cart horses, except smaller. A quick poll as I took my morning constituional revealed that within the blux boxes with the dividers in it people seem to just lump everything in together. I thought it was glass one side, plastic and tin the other. But this Widget conundrum seems to counter this!?!?!So what shoudl be the correct combinations.Oh, and while I'm about it. It makes me seeth that if someone (Not me I may add, but someone who shares my bins) goes to the trouble of putting all their papers into a large bag, as they no longer have space in the blue bag, then surely the council shoudl take it? Do they? Do they hel1 as like! Seems all this effort to save the planet is being undermined by some petty rules because the right sort of bag is not being used. (Going ot calm down now as typing this has got me all angry about it again - Stupid ?^?*^$"&"* Idiots......1....2...3..4..5...6...7...8) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1148-guinness-can-recycling/#findComment-30043 Share on other sites
wee quinnie
Yeh - the divider things don't work very well, and I have lost a couple. I have had to make my own (Blue Peter style) non removable. I realise I am veering into control freakery territory here.
