Hi, hoping someone can help.

I received a letter from Southwark council saying I would receive a cheque for ?88 and some pence due to the water charges refund, and this is the confusing part.

The end of June I saw a credit of ?92 on my rent statement , but as I was ?5 in arrears, it took it down to ?88 and some pence, but around two weeks I saw a debit of ?88 on my rent statement, which means I now have ?70 on my rent account this week, but I paid enough rent to make sure I wouldn't have to pay until next week.

I called someone from the rent team and he did try and explain but I really didn't understand.

I was just wondering if anyone could help, as I feel that the council haven't actually refunded me any money, as it seems that they credited my rent account then debited it weeks later.

Thank you

hi there the way it works with Southwark council os it puts the money on to your rent account minus the arrears then debits the lesser amount back out of the rent account, basically the balance minus the amount will be sent out to you in a cheque. Its a really odd way to do it but southwark never do anything in a normal fashion................hope it helps

Personally, I prefer smaller sized Falafel, for more crunch and lightness. And I found overall, everything lacking a bit of punch. More Chilli and Garlic, and pickles please! Maybe that’s just what I’m accustomed to.  Highly recommend the falafel on Northcross Road market - amazing value, really excellent falafel, and you can really taste the care that goes into the homemade fresh pickles, sauces & salads.  Having travelled extensively in the middle east & I find it a close match to the many falafel stands I have tried.
