can anybody on this forum give me advice on probate law??? i've put this up on here on behalf of somebody who doesn't have money to pay for the advice they seek........

my best advice is to get your friend to ring the probate office (see link for national offices).

I spoke to an amazingly kind and patient woman there last year, who went through all my questions and sorted out all my confusion.

Well worth a phone call I'd say!

Agree with Tulsie, lots of free advice to be had from the Probate Office. If your friend has time she should go into the offices in Holborn and ask for some in-person assistance.

Going through the process at the moment - if the estate is below a proscribed threshold, it is relatively simple to apply for and be granted probate. I've attached the notes for completion of the form and will attach form to subsequent posting. HTH.
