Join us on Thursday 18th August upstairs at Village Books for a morning or afternoon workshop in producing, and starring in, your own LIVE radio play!

We run radio, podcast and audio projects with children, and we're returning back to Village Books with our pop up radio studio next week for a day of exciting radio challenges for children!

http://village-books.co.uk/events/

In groups, children (aged 8+) will be challenged against the clock to script, perform & broadcast their very own live radio drama. Live sound effects will be created using everyday objects (celery, rulers, buckets etc!).

All live performances will be recorded and you will be able to listen to the masterpieces again after the workshop on our website:

Tickets cost ?12.50 per child (and includes yummy homemade brownies).

You can either book for the morning session (10am-12noon), or the afternoon workshop which is 2pm-4pm.

Pop into Village Books to buy your ticket,

Call the shop on 020 8693 2808

or email the bookshop on [email protected] to reserve your spot!

Hi everyone,

Here's a few radio plays produced at our last radio workshop at Village Books back in April - we give children challenge objects that must feature in their radio dramas one way or another and here's what the children created...

Enjoy!

    • Yes!  Oh dear. I guess all you can do is feel sorry for them and be glad you are not like that.

    • These neighbours dislike trees period. They refused to have lost trees replaced by the Estate on our communal green. They don’t like the leaf and seed droppings. These make the grass look ‘messy’. Similarly, they don’t like my policy of leaving the tree leaves where they lie on the grass verge - hence chopping the overhanging branches. It’s like living in the 1950s. My neighbours have three gardeners with leaf blowers who come twice weekly to remove every leaf from their front lawns. Their grass is cut weekly and all the  cuttings put in multiple brown bins. It’s an outdated mindset of the moneyed classes in my view. But sadly, I’m very much in the minority.
