I am feeling optimistic about our game. But, like you said Jah I don't want to tempt fate by putting it in writing!

Keef - thanks for pointing that out. When I copy the list down, I put the previous scores as nil - nil, so I make my own decisions. Missed that one out......

Will amend it now :)

E.on the energy company sponsoring the FA cup has launched it's carbon footyprint campaign. The idea is that football fans pledge to car share to games and in doing so reduce the impact of the cup on the climate.

Seems like quite a good idea apart from the fact that E.on are proposing to update and enlarge the coal fired power station at Kingsnorth in Kent. The power station they want build is massive, 'each of the two units E.on proposes would emit more carbon dioxide than 24 of the world?s lowest emitting countries combined.' - from Greenpeace's site, more.

E.on claim to be wanting to use carbon capture technology at the site but it's not ready to be used, energy companies are haggling with govt. over which technology to go with who's going to pay for it. Read more here

Car journeys are entirely unrelated to E.on's business so asking football fans to alter their behaviour let's E.on seem to care about climate change whilst continuing with business as usual. Sick manipulative shits.

And back to the football?

An ex gooner scores the winner against spuds and another is involved in the incident that gets Keane sent off. Spooky!! I got the Arse score right which I'm well chuffed about. Not so chuffed over the nasty challenge comitted by that lumbering oaf Carew on our midfiled maestro Hleb. Should have been a red card!!!

Really felt for spurs, Keane's sending off was bo!!ocks, but the winner was indeed a hell of a goal!

More importantly, nice to see Liverpool in free scoring form. Only thing that went wrong for me was Torres putting a shot just over, that would have been goal of the season (having done it all himself).

Diouf is a filthy bastard though!

Johan Djourou (on loan from Scum) tripped Dimitar Berbatov for our penalty. Spookier.

No way was that a sending off for Robbie Keane. I don't like to slag referees as their job is hard enough as it is but that decision by Phil Dowd was very poor. It was a bad challenge but a booking would have sufficed. It helped turn the game around for Birmingham.

I'm still totally gutted by the result as I thought we played really well but we still can't defend without Ledley King and once again we've conceded in the last minute. A cracking goal too, but a game we shouldn't have lost.

An entertaining game for neutrals but torture for us Spurs fans.

agree totally with the sending off, but one thing that really concerns me, and I've not seen it mentioned in any of the post-match reviews or in the papers

The ref bottled the decision and consulted 4th official. Bad Enough.

4th Official was Uriah Rennie. Even Worse

But as the players trudged off there was a close of up Rennie laughing his head off as if he hadn't a car in the world... It reminded me of that advert for a betting company where a last minute corner is converted and the ref starts celebrating as if he scored

I found it all a bit suspicious is all...

Listening to talkshite last night I found myself agreeing with Jason Cundy (usually I have no time for this guy, but for once I agreed with him), when he said Spuds fans should stop moaning about the a single bad decision and take on board the fact that they can't defend, which is why they rooted to the nether regions of the league. As he said, the table doesn't lie.
Come u gooners, let's beat the Toon tonight if for no other reason than to drive a nail into the coffin for Sam "I'm not talking to those nasty people at the BBC" Allardyce's career at Newcastle, and to make life hard for him. I can't stand the bloke.

    • Another recommendation for Dulwich Test and Services Centre. Only been using them for a couple of years but wish I’d found them earlier
    • A new roadmap (surely railmap?!) for rail accessibility has been published: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/accessible-railways-roadmap It says "approximately 56% of stations and around 66% of the 1.3 billion journeys that take place on the network have step-free access to platforms...  "£373 million has been committed over the next 5 years to deliver Access for All projects, providing step-free access from station entrances to and between platforms, alongside other essential accessibility upgrades. These works, together, will increase the number of step-free stations across Great Britain from 56% to 58%. "This improvement will make travel easier with step-free access available at stations covering an increased share of total rail journeys – from 66% up to 71%" Don't know what that means for us here: upgrading Peckham Rye would cover a lot of rail journeys but the cost has no doubt increased from the £40m figure previously quoted. So that would eat into a lot of the funding.
