Murali - Goodrich Road

I saw the Tamil wizard practising his doosras off the gable end of Goodrich Road, as it meets Sylvester Road. My mate Dave shouted no ball as we went by on our micro-scooters, but I've told Dave that he's bang out of order.

What Test cricketers have you seen on the Streets of ED, recently?

This reminds me- Goochie used to have a net in the alley behind Mirash. The under chef there was a useful leggie, and reckoned Goochie couldn't pick his top spinner. After the net, Gatt would come down and he and Goochie woulod go through the menu, before meeting Embers at the Foresters for a gallon.

Oh aye - Gracie's usually looking for a hit. I've skittled him once up on Peckham Rye and he's just put the bails back on and said "Play on". My mate Dave wanted to shit in his kitbag for that, but I've told Dave that he's bang out of order.

I reckon that wasn't Warnie, PGC, from behind he looks exactly like my mate Dave.

Mick Mac, that's a good spot on Tavers. Do you think he was in the area to check out the people carrier for sale (MOT in post) outside the HiFi Station?

I think he's got work now as a driver for Kent CC, giving tours of the outgrounds. What that man doesn't know about Sevenoaks Vine isn't worth knowing.

Got another one for you. Gary Kirsten runs a tiling and decor business out of those new units behind the Plough. Good tidy job. Nothing flash, but gets the job done. His brother is useless though, so make sure you get Gary.

Brian Close was in the Bishop the other Saturday and there was a massive 'off' and he just stood there and took 3 or 4 bottles in the face. Didn't bat an eyelid. They don't make them like that anymore.

He must finish at 7, cos he is now in the Plough sinking pints of Stella. If I were his wife I'd make myself scarce.

    • Ahh, Mr N, you're going too far there. I (boringly) agree with you whenever you say Rye Lane is neglected and an eyesore. However, the cafes and restaurants can be quite nice inside, and I don't think any of them offers al fresco dining on Rye Lane itself. So it's not a crazy idea at all.
    • Where is a nearby Aldi?? I find the Sainsbury's in Forest Hill even more depressing than the Dog Kennel Hill one, if such a thing was possible.
