Supergolden - I know we have never met but I was actually thinking of you today and wondering if you had the baby as I am due a week tomorrow! Last time was induced so dont even know what going into labour feels like. What did midwife say to you regarding going over? Last time I went to 42 weeks before induction. I am with the Lanes this time (lived in Greenwich for last birth 2 years ago) and midwife told me that now I would be induced at 41+ 2. I really dont want to be induced again. Are you with the Lanes? Did they give you any options?

I am just going to Kings for delivery and am not with any midwife practice. I am booked to have a sweep on Wednesday morning at post dates clinic. I understand you can have a few sweeps before it works (if at all) then I am sure they are going to tell me about an induction date.

I do feel rather awful right now so will see if that develops into anything.

I would think you have the option to say no to an induction up to 42wks - they can monitor you at hospital to make sure placenta is ok.

By my dates the baby should be due on 5/11 so perhaps I was right all along (the adjusted the EDD according to scan)

On my first birth my delivery date was moved up a week as well according to scan data, and i was convinced all along that when I was induced I was just 41 weeks not 42. But no one would listen. I was very confident in my dates as well. This time I had myself down as due the 10th and they say the 9th so just about the same. Had two sweeps last time which did nothing. I have my next appt on due date and will see what midwife says about going to 42 weeks again. Hope things move along for you and that birth goes ok. Thanks for info. Keep us updated!
Just been reading the messages and wanted to wish everyone who is due soon good luck and hope the births go ok. Seems like ages ago since I had Sam (now 8 weeks old) Will try and get along to coffee meetup next time cant do today as have school pickup to do.
Had very weird incident last night woke up at 2am shivering uncontrollably but no fever. Currently at kings MAU being monitored. Looks like baby is lying sideways again so waiting for doctor to scan me again then they may try a sweep. Likely to be here for hours and with almost no sleep last night am feeling completely wiped out. Wish me luck have no idea how the day will turn out!

Kept overnight for observation - what a f****** joke! Will post later right now still in hospital trying to dicharge myself after horrible night in which had maybe 20m of sleep. No baby yet he is happily squirming with no intention of coming out yet! Ladies fight your corner just because they are doctors does not mean they are right.

Hope I can get out by 12 if not may turn murderous

    • They've left all kinds of things in my garden including gardening gloves and shoes, not to mention scavenged food and packaging. Once they left an unopened vacuum pack of smoked trout, the next day some pita bread. All a bit biblical.
    • From memory foxes only became a regular sight in the 90s, the attached article says they first appeared in the 30s becoming far more common in the 80s.  Apparently, whilst we think that urban foxes live longer than rural due to their 'easy' life few will make it over the age of two.  In towns they are far more crowded than their natural habitat where they are more territorial. I've never seen foxes and cats fighting but once saw two cats squaring up to each other and a watching fox went up and butted its head against one of the cats.  There's a video on youtube of a cat and fox facing off when the cat is eating outside, but it wont let me embed on this post.  Get too close and I'll scratch you. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2022/oct/15/urban-foxes-are-they-fantastic-or-a-growing-menace My main issue is leaving things out like gardening gloves and they go or are shredded.  One stole a bag of bird food in front of me, took it next door, shredded the bag and then left it.
