Hello,

Does anyone work for, or know anyone who works for Southwark Council?

I have a community audio project proposal for the Council and they're very hard to get in touch with!

http://www.wordplayeducation.co.uk/ - I co-run audio, podcast & radio projects for children & adults in ED and would love to get a large-scale community arts project underway for a little Christmas idea I have!

If you have a contact name/number/email address, I'd be really grateful!

Thank you!

Zoe (& Leon)

No he isn't an ass but exasperated as any normal person would be by a request for info suggested by the OP, embarrassing in its delivery. BB you are enabling a person who cannot sort herself out. " O wait a moment, I will just google that for you........" this thread as many others, is replete with show offs, problem solvers and know all's.... and infantilisation of hapless requests.

The problem Zoe is that your problem , like a child's, is hoisted, foisted, and declared onto others,

because you do not have the wherewithal to contact the correct department yourself, , but want others here to do it for you - like a child - and will never be taken seriously whilst you allow the EDF do gooders to do your thinking for you, thus not only infantalising you but diminishing any clout you might possibly have had pre post.

Mm. I confess to a sneaking sympathy for EA, who has at least explained their viewpoint clearly rather than just trolling like Grok.

This is the OP's second thread in a few days asking people on the forum to do something for her without apparently making much effort herself and together they did strike me as a bit childish, but no law against using the forum as a labour-saving device I guess.

    • If it was limited to a couple of days a year, so we all knew, that would be fine. In the last few years (and it is a recent thing) you get random fireworks going off any time after dusk for half the year. It does more than cause problems for pets and wildlife- it can mean lasting damage and massive expense and hassle for pet owners. All because some get a buzz out of loud bangs.
    • Ohh dear.  Fireworks can be great fun.  Where I used to live the kids would have firework wars/games.  Watching them was more enjoyable than watching  TV. (Which you could hardly hear due to the pops and bangs).  It's not like anyone/anything could stop them. I would still prefer organised public displays that are affordable.   And I agree that fireworks cause problems for wild life, pets and people.   It seems to be one of those things that just happens so we have to put up with it.  But it is still not as problematic here as in other areas in London - that's for sure.
    • I made sure to set off a few today just to rile you guys up 😇😂 Always looking for something to criticise
