Alan Dale
A lady slipped and fell on her backside this morning on the top deck of the No. 40. No one laughed. A few people helped her up and a couple more offered words of condolence and reassurance. You can't beat the bus. Annasfield
I think I was on that bus too - I was sat downstairs and heard a thump. Was concerned at first but there didn't seem to be any comotion. Alan Dale
How could I be sure of that?Nice to share a bus with you Sean. I thought that was you but thought it couldn't be because you ditched your Guardian and didn't ensure it got recycled. It was all over the top deck by the time I got to London Bridge. Not such a good guy after all! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1245-no-40/#findComment-33179 Share on other sites
SeanMacGabhann
I've definitely been outed there - I overthink the whole leaving the Guardian on the bus thing. People flock to the free newspapers so I often think if I have finished the Guardian and leave it for others to read I am doing a Good Thing? But clearly not - I shall endeavour to do my bit to keep the 40 tidy from here on in. So where were you on the bus? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1245-no-40/#findComment-33185 Share on other sites
Alan Dale
It wasn't that bad really.I am afraid I can't tell you where I was sitting because I want to be able to throw away newspapers and laugh at fat ladies who fall over without being held accountable.I got on in Camberwell and I have a prosthetic left arm. Hope that helps. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1245-no-40/#findComment-33187 Share on other sites
ClareC
leaving newspapers on busses is recycling! They always get picked up and read by another passenger :-) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1245-no-40/#findComment-33191 Share on other sites
Alan Dale
Whilst I accept the newspaper may be recycled (although in this case it attracted no further interest between being discarded at Elephant and my leaving the bus at London Bridge) it is most likely that the paper it is printed on will not be recycled. cdonline
I was wondering if that paper is still doing the journey.Any reports? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1245-no-40/#findComment-33193 Share on other sites
Nero
It's reusing, not recycling, but it's a nice gesture. Nero Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1245-no-40/#findComment-33194 Share on other sites

Ant
Someone had better tell Bob the Builder. He'll have to change his 'Reduce, reuse, recycle' mantra to take that into account. :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1245-no-40/#findComment-33215 Share on other sites
ClareC
Perhaps at the end of the day all the discarded papers are collected and put into a recycling bin :-) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1245-no-40/#findComment-33254 Share on other sites

bald marauder
If I'm on a bus and haven't had time to get a paper, I appreciate reading one being left by a previous passenger. Particularly the Guardian. Carry on leaving them please! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1245-no-40/#findComment-33293 Share on other sites
