  1. Off street parking - flat sum Street parking - sod all in East Dulwich.
  2. Always take the e-mail confirmation with you. I've had to pull it out of the bag twice now due to the dodgy fast ticket machines and both times it's been accepted. They can't argue with something they've agreed to on paper...
  3. We already have a Grove - East Dulwich Grove. :-$
  4. For *authentic* Curry go to Madras restaurant in Lewisham. If you want *really authentic* (and i mean dining in an environment similar to that of a local cafe in India) try Chennai Dosai in Thornten Heath. I always get change back from a tenner when I take my partner there.

    No. 40

The day I choose to sit downstairs on the 40...
  6. Looks more like a boat to me...still very impressive during the night.
  7. I've had countless problems getting mail - this due to a nuisance neighbour who thought it was funny to shred my mail and post through my letter box... After consulting the police and Sylvester road sorting office, I found Royal Mail to be very helpful and I now make arrangements to collect the mail myself every few days from the sorting office.
  8. Probably a good idea to ask your structural engineer. If he has worked on similar properties he may know the suitability of your property for the desired works. I'm pretty certain building control will want to see your plans and approve/ammend if necessary.
  9. Mahonia It really depends on your foundations and the local subsidence issues in your area. A good check - look at similar houses close to you and see if any of them have had lofts constructed successfully without subsidence or any other structural issues. The foundations need to be checked to see if they are adequate for the extra load. The building control officer may instruct you to alter your foundations if unsuitable - at extra cost.
  10. What's Charlie Gold?? 12 - definately a fried chicken bus, literally. you usally find everyones left overs built up during the day.
  11. The buses can be excellent at times - except rush hour. I used to get on the 176 at the Strand and during rush hour it could be a real nightmare. The 40 is easily the best bus to go through LL in terms of how busy it can get and the low level of ruffians that get on!
  12. Bus drivers always seem to be in a rush when it comes to letting people on/off (if i'm the last person off at a stop, the doors seem to close as im going through the doors... :S). However, when your making your way home, and you suddenly stop in Camberwell and have to wait for the bus driver to finish his conversation and big mac before you're off and away.
  13. Oh dear...terrible...in complete contrast to GB, thats the worst thing i've heard all day!!
  14. What's the best (cheapest) way to get to Paddington from ED?
  15. I've been in Raylon once to buy A2 paper. The owner gave me a long lecture on how paper has to "breathe" and what I wanted it for while his assistant looked on in amusement. I think I hit a nerve when I told him I could get printer cartriges cheaper from Peckham.
