Hi All

Partner is really struggling with back pain since giving birth a week ago.

We both have physio on occasion at ESPH but wondering if anyone has had experince of specialist post natal massage / physio / osteopathy?

She had an epidural and therefore wondering if consideration needs to be given for this when working on her back?

I dont know with regards to epidural however I also had appalling postnatal back pain (some days dare i say i was in more pain than labour!!) however at 2wks old i took my baby to see a cranial osteopath and he commented on how i was walking so i explained. I had 2 sessions with him and I was good as new. After the first session i found i could move and turn over in bed like i had before. I can't recommend him high enough.

His name is Naval and is based in Clapham - his number is 02077389199 - I can't remember the name of his practice.

If you have any further questions please just ask

Good luck with your new baby

I would recommend Elaine at the Therapy Rooms above Health Matters. She's a cranial osteopath who does a lot of work on mothers and babies. I had a lot of back pain with my first child, i thought it might be related to the epidural i had too. I didn't have an epidural with my second child and no back pain either.

Good luck!

I would be happy to help! I have experience with both pre and post natal massage and often use thai massage as well as Swedish Massage to help ease any tension aswell as correcting any dissalignment caused by the pregnancy and birth.

If you would like to talk to me or make an appointment, you can call me on: 07800 636266 or pm me.

I have many recommendations for my treatments on the forum, if you search my username you'll see!

Best wishes

Amy

    • Pity you didn't quote what you are referring to, Mal. I didn't see the previous post, and my mind is boggling 😮
    • The Cherry Tree was absolutely excellent for a while when a youngish couple ran it and brought in a really good chef. It was them who renamed it The Cherry Tree. They were really turning it around. The chef did fantastic Scotch eggs, and one of the best roasts I've ever had. If memory serves the then owner,  for some reason known only to himself, took a dislike to them and what they were doing and sacked them all. And yes we weren't expecting a top class  meal last Christmas, and we left it too late to book anywhere else, but we weren't expecting it for a hundred pounds EACH to be quite as terrible as it was. Stupid us. Not sure why you are confused by my post, Jazzer? Did I misremember? Now it's got even more confusing because my posts have been merged and your confused emoji is shown at the bottom of the second one instead of the first 🤣
    • Hear hear. Very well said. Thank you and all the best for the year ahead
    • Tried months ago, to get folk together to do something, to say thank you. Been a member of the forum for years and if you had not stepped up, would not be an active  forum. Well administered as well. So from me to you, thanks for keeping it going..  Happy Christmas and blessings and good fortune in 2026 which I am told is The Year of The Horse….
