bawdy-nan
You could get the train to St Pancras and walk .... Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/124798-how-to-get-to-the-british-museum/#findComment-1052339 Share on other sites
uncleglen
Get a 176 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/124798-how-to-get-to-the-british-museum/#findComment-1052351 Share on other sites
goldilocks
With a buggy I've done the St Pancras and walking route - its not too far and its a nice walk. Otherwise the 176 is fine if you are happy to sit on the bus for around 1 hr - which if you take into account walking between train and tube connections etc isn't too bad. Dulwich Born And Bred
Thank you all very much , how long is the walk as I will have my child plus two older relatives walking as well so I don't want to tire them out ? bawdy-nan
Have you tried the Citymapper app or website? It's very good at answering these kinds of questions... goldilocks
ok - its a bit of a walk - I'd recommend the 176 in that case depending on where you are. Would also agree that City Mapper is good for options re changing busses too. civilservant
yes, 68 or 168 or 188 are better than 176 - they avoid the Strand/Charing X Road, so they are quicker to the BMall can be got from the Elephant if not Camberwell Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/124798-how-to-get-to-the-british-museum/#findComment-1053027 Share on other sites
cazbee
The 171 bus is also a good option. It's about a 5 minute walk from the final stop (Holborn) to the British Museum. My parents just did it and the walking distance was fine.
