I am babysitting near Ruskin Park on alternate Wednesdays and would like to go somewhere with my 10month old granddaughter for her to socialise- any ideas? I tried The Cambria as heard it did a music session but it was shut and no one there.

Maybe the Cambria had to close due to cutbacks in Lambeth recently. Jessop Children's Centre has recently shut down all groups and Myatt's Fields the same. Such a shame. Crawford Children's Centre comes under Southwark so you might be lucky finding something going on there on a Wednesday.

If not, pm me for details of a lovely group near to Ruskin Park.

Salvation Army run a playgroup on a Wednesday at there centre behind camberwell library - I took mine a few times was a nice group http://www.salvationarmy.org.uk/camberwell

I think the group at the Cambria is bea's baby bop - which is a lovely drop-in singing and music group https://m.facebook.com/pg/beasbabybop/about/

Southwark children's centres have also had massive cuts and not much on in the south camberwell area now.

    • Hey everyone, Just a quick heads up for those who might not be aware: there's a new law in England that took effect in April. Essentially, if you're involved in any building or planning projects, you now need to meet certain biodiversity quotas.  I stumbled upon this handy assessment tool that can determine whether you're exempt or need to meet the requirements. Hopefully, it eases your worries too! Check it out here: https://www.joesblooms.com/bng-tool
    • Very much appreciated Macron’s comments yesterday on brexit   ””   given the lack of traffic on this thread I can’t help but feel it underlines his point
    • This Italian restaurant at the Southbound Goose Green bus stop on Lordship Lane is excellent but doesn't seem to get much custom, especially at lunchtimes - a sad indictment of East Dulwich society.  If it were in Camberwell/Peckham (where I used to live) it would be rammed. If we don't want Lordship Lane full of chains, then good quality independent family places need custom.
