I can recommend Andy (07983 688451) who, when our kitchen taps wouldn't turn off fully: was round in 20mins, advised us on where to shop for a replacement suitable for our flat, came back 2hrs later to fit the new tap. He was prompt, professional and we're very happy with the job

Mark Newlove of New Gas Boilers (07971 824567)has done some superb work for me in the last few months including installing a new ch boiler, thermostatic valves for radiators and most recently a new shower pump. He's neat and efficient and a great problem solver - a model professional and a lovely guy as well.
I rent out my place in East Dulwich. I want to recommend Andy (07983688451)as well. I got his number from the forum and he was polite, attentive & prompt & coordinated with the tenants and even went to the extent of phoning the manufactures of my shower for me. He fixed the issue and was very clear, reliable and flexible. Will def use him again.

Just had Clive (07956 525 875)over to fix a valve to the washing machine that was dripping. Arrived on time and was very quick, polite and tidy. This is the second time I called him out as he did some work in 2015 after I saw the recommendation on this site. He's become my 'go to' plumber.

    • DKH was two form entry, it is now one form entry to cope with the fact it was far more under subscribed than other schools in the area. They had actually combined year groups into single classes, 3/4 and 5/6.  When a school changes name, it’s usually because of a bad reputation perhaps the results.  The new name is dry with no history unlike its current name. It’s a very sketchy decision. It’s an expensive vanity project for someone.  What  will happen if the name change does not increase applications to the school?
    • @first mate I assume Alice made a mistake, as she removed her reaction.  I was wondering about park wardens. As I said, there was one there last night, who was incredibly helpful and proactive. As well as bringing me to the police, he caught up with a young guy on a bike who'd earlier been the victim of an attempted theft by these kids and linked him up with the police too. But I do wonder, as I've only very occasionally seen him riding around, how many they have and what hours they patrol. I've no doubt they'd be a strong deterrent if they had a better presence. They were nowhere to be seen the first time around.  Update: I've just found this: https://services.southwark.gov.uk/community-safety/community-wardens The guy in the photo at the bottom of the page was the lovely warden of last night and I've just now remembered him telling me he's based in Burgess Park. Anyway, there needs to be more of them, as I rarely see one in Peckham.
    • Some of us oldies would associate Grove with the old Grove Vale School (which I went to in the 1950s)
