Yes indeed, and one of the main reasons I don't go there.

Mind you, there are often about 200 adults in a trance state too.

Did I mention the people on my road (owner-occupiers) who insist on filling every window of their many-windowed house with crappy, universally broken, dirty net curtains, which are always drawn (in a broken kind of way)?

If they ever see it from the outside, they must realise how crappola it looks to all the neighbours and passers by, and if they never come out they must be seeing their entire world through those ghastly filters 24/7.

Sainbury's is the new Valium. That's why parents go there: it absolves them of all responsibility for the antics of their 'he's got ADHD' kids.

Shrieking women. If there's anything liable to make me go out and buy a shotgun, it's shrieking women. You know, the ones that shriek and scream for 3-4-5-6 hours when drunk, shriek for four days 24/7 in the tent next to yours etc. Have they got a birth defect or defective gene or summat?

the words grumpy and old come to mind.......

Weedy&/or obsequious men. I HATE them. Grow a pair, please!

Example - *** seriously winds me up - he has his head so far firmly wedged up ***'s anus it actually makes me feel nauseous to watch them together...*** And apparently he's always in the doghouse with his parnter for something ridiculous like burning the toast.

EDIT: Stars replace incriminating evidence because they read the forum :-$

I second this! Along with intolerance of others.... especially others that are "different" to yourself. Prejudicial generalisations!!

Binary - I used to work pretty much in an all male office and I have never seen so much embarrassing fawning in my life. I have an insight in to the all boys public school world, there is a definite hierarchy...

Yes it's sad to watch, all that back-slapping and false smiling at the jolly good ribbings they get from each other, oh and how they fake laugh at it all...bleugh! Actually I'm thinking of starting a comic strip about it for cathartic purposes.

People who make stupid/erroneous/embarrassing statements based on flawed logic or their own opinion rather than fact. I am constantly amazed by how many people who do this, knowing full well that their claims cannot be substantiated, or even worse can be clearly and publicly refuted by known facts. My gripe at the moment (apart from spurious claims about what percentage of the population has below average income) is ignorant statements about cyclists. They normally include something about jumping red lights, cycling on pavements and/or not paying road taxes/wearing lycra/hugging trees/killing kittens and puppies. Why don't people arm themselves with the FACTS first before spurting out drivel they know nothing about??? Grr...

I don't think opinions can be wrong. 'I think the Pope should be shot' is an opinion and is as valid as any other opinion.

I think the problem lies with (a) an inability to distinguish fact from fantasy, and fact from opinion, and (b) a complete absence of logic, both of which are subsets of a complete lack of general education.

    • Ok, I'll bite. It depends on what you are after (and budget) but our favourite is Forza Wine. We went when it was cold and dark, but it's a rooftop location so should be even better if it's sunny and bright. Link to review below. There's also a recent review on the site of 139 Fika which was pretty good. I'd say it was in Bellenden but they say it's in Peckham (maybe because it makes it sound cooler!). https://open.substack.com/pub/eatsdulwich/p/restaurant-review-forza-wine?r=8oe6m&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=false

This left a slow leak with no obvious source.   He made an attempt to find it’s source keeping me up-to-date with what he was doing as I looked on. As it was a slow leak this was not successful and Rob took no money for his time at this stage. I was then able, with some telephone guidance from Rob, to record and feed back what was going on in his absence. This was sufficient for him to diagnose a loss of pressure on the air side of the expansion vessel put it right.   Rob is capable, friendly and considerate and keeps you as informed as you want to be without wasting time. I intend to continue call on him for my plumbing and central heating jobs.  Quote   Private Message 1 month later...   The Minkey Posted December 20, 2022 Another recommendation for Rob Mills. • So. Last night Royal Mail customer service kept me waiting a quarter of an hour with no indication of the wait time,  then closed the service down at 6.30pm. This morning I waited half an hour to speak to someone.   First they told me to make a claim via their website, then reluctantly agreed they could do it on the phone. They required both my and my daughter's name, addresses, postcodes and email addresses, plus my phone number. WHY? THEN they told me a CHEQUE for £9.85 would be sent to my address!!!!!! No compensation for everybody's wasted time, just the Special Delivery (hollow laugh) fee back. I did point out a) we weren't in the Stone Age and b) this cheque would probably either never arrive or be stuck for months in the local delivery office beneath mounds of other mail which never gets delivered. I felt very sorry for this guy. I hope he is well paid. What a terrible job to have. So now, assuming I ever get the cheque, I will have to queue up at the Post Office to pay it in. Having already queued up to post an item for a non existent service in the first place. GRRRRR. Can I be bothered to write to the CEO? No, probably not. I'll just get some bland standard letter back sent by some other poor person with a terrible job.
