  1. What a joke. And they want free help sorting out their website....f*ck off!
  2. Great idea...should branch out to surrounding areas. I've just moved to Hither Green which seems to have around 3-4 similar 'local' forums but none as popular or active as this. EDf seems to have an active user base from all over South London.
  3. If anyone has one of these knocking around I'll happily come and collect it (you'll need to take it down first). I need about 10 for a project.

I can't imagine what it would have been like if I was also elderly/less mobile/very ill. I did manage to get an appointment doing this once for around 11am. That meant taking half a day off work. I did do it because I felt my health was more important but it's totally unnecessary. And infuriating.

'Singled out' doesn't make any sense - patients can only be registered with one GP, so anyone compaining isn't singling them out, they're just a disgrunteld patient/ex-patient (and there are many, it seems). It's just a fact they're worse than average: Respondents who find it easy to get through by phone: DMC: 30% CCG (regional) average: 74% Respondents describe their experience of making an appointment as good: DMC: 40% CCG (regional) average: 71% Respondents with a preferred GP usually get to see or speak to that GP: DMC: 32% CCG (regional) average: 53% From: https://gp-patient.co.uk/practices/G85651?term=The+Dulwich+Medical+Centre+%28SE22+9EP%29
  7. For people who have lives that revolve around work or children 'dropping in' at the convenience of the practice or taking a punt every day by queueing outside in the cold (for sick people, really!?) is not practical. I don't want to do this, I can't do this, I need a time and date that's convenient for me. I'm sure if you're retired, or unemployed you can fit that kind of nonsense around your life but for most of us that's just not the case. Normally I have been able to book appointments for the following month, however at the beginning of this month, I needed to see a GP to follow up some recent surgery but when I phoned, I was told that they can't book any appointments for a whole month because they are improving their booking system. So no I can't book for December or January until their system is sorted out. It sounded like a joke. But it wasn't. And that fecking patient meeting whatsit? Well, that's absolutely no use - you just have to trawl through previous minutes of those meetings to see this has been going on for years.

We used to use Viovet which was great for Frontline but obviously no good for our cats any more. I'm pretty sure Advocate is prescription only but would be good to find it online.

  10. KalamityKel Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Works for us... *shrugs* perhaps we keep a closer eye on the biters/our feline chums don't get them too bad in the first place/we treat before it becomes an issue. If you treat them regularly according to the schedule on the packet you should not need to 'keep an eye on the biters' as there should never be fleas 'in the first place' because treatments like Frontline are meant to kill AND prevent fleas. It's only since Frontline stopped working that it became an issue for us. We have not had a problem since we took our vet's advice and switched - I won't go back to Frontline, but then maybe I'm just being naive in thinking my vet isn't on one of those Advocate scams?
  11. KK we switched to Advantage a while ago but couldn't get any so went back to Frontline for a few treatments. To our surprise the fleas persisted (we had used this successfully for years). So we took the cats to the vet and got some other treatment - I think it was Advocate. The vet confirmed that fleas had become immune to Frontline but said that Advantage would also work. I have no reason to doubt this, there are threads all over the place (e.g. netmums) about Frontline no longer working.
  12. Have been told by vets that frontline no longer works.
  13. Bob Martin will not get rid of fleas no matter how much you use. Fleas are immune to that, only prescription stuff works these days.

  15. Thanks, yes I did take a look but you have to donate specific items on their shopping lists... I might give them a call, couscous might come under their definition of 'ceareals' unless they mean breakfast cereals only. I have mobility issues atm so I'd like it to be very local (i.e. ED).
  16. We got a weird thing hand delivered as well - it had "PASSITON" written on the envelope. Sound familiar? 17. Due to a supermarket substitution I have a spare 5kg bag of couscous. Anyone know anywhere I could drop this into locally? I will never use it all so would rather not open it jus to let most of it go to waste.

The last time I was in there the food looked really good, and friends said it tasted great too. Shame we'd made a point of eating before arriving (based on previous). Need to give that one another shot.
  19. Got it... Southerden, Choumert Rd. Thank you, will have to check it out :)

Chicken is the best one, but the lamb and beef are both awful. Pies are burgers pretty naff too...even Byron burgers are cheaper and nicer. Sometimes their spicier dishes and salads are ok - the Mexican and Jerk chicken I've had have been better, although the chicken is always dry. Ribs and wings ok. Have had good fish and chips. But it is hit and miss. I don't know, maybe they have two different chefs? Thinking about it, I do like their chips, but that's all they ever seem to get right. I go for the beer. 'Sh!t' was a bit harsh, but it's not great, especially for the price. Mind you, it's hard to find good pub grub around here full stop tbh.
