EDmummy
Camberwell New Rd outside the Sacred Heart Secondary completely closed due to burst water main. Will be closed for 2 weeks. Diversion in place not so bad going North but dreadful going South. EDmummy
That's what the foreman from Thames Water said. It was on the scale of the Herne Hill burst water main and affected local housing. singalto Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> 2 weeks??? Bic Basher
From TfL.CAMBERWELL NEW ROAD - Route 185 is on diversion from 1130 Tuesday 25th October until 1900 Tuesday 8th November due to a burst water main. Buses are diverting from Camberwell New Road at the junction of Medlar Street, left Medlar Street, right Camberwell Road, then onto Denmark Hill to line of route. Diversion is in both directions. Applespider
I caught the 185 today (1745 at Victoria) and the 200m diversion took 45 minutes from leaving Camberwell New Road to getting back on track. If you have to go that way, I'd advise getting off the bus at the stop before Sacred Heart, walking up to the Green and then getting the 185 that left Victoria 40 minutes beforehand. Nigello
Remember that with the new "hopper" facility, you can get off one bus and get on another within an hour of first boarding so you won't be out of pocket. (I am hoping this hopper thing will mean less cramped buses at rush hour as it gives people more options.) Willard
I drove through there on Tuesday morning, around 7:30 am, on my motorbike. The water was insane, a torrent coming up through the pavement which looked completely blown apart. Nearly a foot of water in places for about a 100m stretch. EDmummy
Looks like this might be finished earlier than expected. Just passed and they're painting on road markings. Hurrah!
